Walton Verona. Have great guard play and inside game getting better. They have the skills to take the 8th Region!

8th region--Gallatin County---This small school can compete with the big boys. They have been knocking on the door in recent years; they might just kick the door down this year.

9th is Boone Co.

In the 13th I feel like Jackson Co. could be the suprise team, If they use a steady diet of going into Brumback and a couple of the others step-up big time they could be right there. Does their district seed or draw? Could affect this.

 

They draw, and since Jackson County is the swing vote on whether to vote or seed, I would love to see the draw cost them a trip to the Regional Tournament.

Something like that could sure cause them to rethink things. IMO the KHSAA should make all districts uniform and either seed (the best) or draw, unfair to better teams.

My Dark Horse to win Runner up in the 10th would probably be Montgomery Co. or Campbell Co. That is if they don't get on the same side of the braket with Mason Co.

Montgomery will have an advantage with the games being played in Mount Sterling, but that still might not be enough to take out the Royals.

Fairview or Raceland in the 16th, but Elliot a clear favorite.

In the 14th I wouldnt count Hazard as a darkhorse because there not much difference in them and June B. IMO a Cordia, Lee or Letcher could be a come from no where darkhorse.

I would say Franklin County in the 11th region. They have the talent to beat teams on any given night, but are young and very streaky. But when they are playing "A" ball there are teams that would still beat them but it would be no easy task

In the 4th it really could be any team. Teams like Bowling Green, Greenwood, AC/S, Russellville, Glasgow, and Warren Central could qualify as dark horse candidates at this point.

Well I haven't seen Warren Central so I'm just basing this on the fact that they have won the 4th region 7 years in a row. There proably not ever a darkhorse in the 4th region.

14th Region June Buchanan and Hazard are the clear favorites.

 

Letcher Central, Knott Central, Cordia, Breathitt County and Estill County are longshots at best.

Gallatin Co. has only beaten one team with a winning record (Owen Co. twice). IMO they need a marquee win to be considered a darkhorse contender.
