Meade Co. Meades freshmen are 5-0 this year. They have had a total of 22 points scored on them this year

This was a game of 2 halfs. Meade intercepted an Apollo pass and ran it in for a td on their first drive. Meade also ran for another td and had 140 yards in the first half. Meades D held Apollo in check the first 2 quarters. It was a completely different story the 2nd half. Apollo moved the ball very well with passes across the middle and to the outside to #7 and # 87 respectively. 2 touchdowns in first 3 drives. No one else scored in regulation. No one scored in the 1rst overtime. Apollo scored on it's 2nd play in Double overtime with a run up the middle after a 7 yard gain on first down. pat good. Meade also scored on the 2nd play with Tyler Crowle dragging kids into the endzone. Meade went for 2 and got it around the right end for the game winner. I have to mention Jimmy Crase was all over the field with crushing tackles for the defensive bright spot for Meade in the 2nd half. I believe that Apollo was fresher at the end of the game. If we had took the pat I do not know if we would have had the same outcome. I want to give a shout out to the Apollo QB. I do not know the kids name but he is a real warrior. Great Game Apollo and congratulations Greenwave for a hard fought battle. Remember..... We ain't done yet!!!!! Go Green!!!!

This is not a district game for either team but still important for both. Meade Co. had a very good game against Nelson Co. last Friday with 432 yrds rushing . Also the D limited Nelson to 14 points until 35 seconds left and Nelsons JV scored on ours. I do know that Apollo is very big up front. I would have to think that Meades O line will have to move these big ol boys for us to have a chance to win. Our passing game is way under par from what MC has been used to the last 5 or 6 years . So the run is the butter on our bread. I hope this is a good one. Good luck to both teams. Meade 26 Apollo 21 Go Green!!!

I knew we would have a good shot in this game. Nelson runs the ball and Meade defends well against the run. Also the JV and Freshmen both beat Nelson on Monday & Thursday respectively and showed us a little of what to expect. Our kids have been working their butts off all year and I am proud that it is finally paying off for them. Can we repeat the season that we had last year after starting 0-3 ? I do not know that answer, will our kids give it heck trying ? Thats an easy answer! Good Luck Nelson with the rest of the season. Great job Waves.. But remember..... We ain't done yet!!!! Freshmen,Thomas & Bo Wilson. Both start on Meades varsity. Thomas at corner and back up QB. Bo at wideout. These kids are cousins. Also they have another cousin Will that starts linebacker for the Greenwave. You will hear alot about this trio in the coming years.

Nelson Co. has a strong running game and has had good success running the option. Meade Co. has had a hard time getting anything going this year but got a big win against Central Friday night. I do believe that Meades strength is defending the run. Nelson likes to run it down your throat. If Meade can somehow move the ball, have good field position, and keep Nelsons offense off of the field. We could pull another upset. If Nelson does what it wants up front, this could be a long night for the Greenwave. I hope it's a close one.......17-13 either way

Meade 12 Central 6

This game was a game of defense. Meade scored its 3rd Td of the season late in the first quarter. Central came back and scored their TD just before halftime. Neither could convert a p.a.t.. Neither defense gave up any points in the 2nd half , but Alex Furnival of Meade ran back one of Centrals 4 int. turnovers back for Meades 2nd. TD of the night. It wasn't pretty, but Meade gutted out their first win of the season. Maybe we can build off of this and improve each week and make a little noise come November. Congrads to the Greenwave, (and a heck of a Game you played Alex Furnival on both sides of the ball). Keep it up Greenwave!

Meade co. Has 8 seniors and 5 start. That is not enough for a 6A program.

I have to agree with the oil man. If Meade kids didn't work hard they would not be on the team. I do believe that the right starters are in, but what I do not understand is being down by 30 in the fourth quarter and not pulling your starters until there is less than a minute left. Our kids leave it all on the field but they just get wore down in the latter stages. Our starters went up against mostly Greenwood subs the second to last series and could not move the ball. Now tell me what that does to a kids esteem? We have some young, skilled, position players, especially on offense that could help our team. We have a freshman QB that in a couple years, will be one of the best around. Why when we are down 4 TDS with less than five minutes, can't he get some reps for the future? We are one play either by injury or decision from having this promising young man running the offense. Which wouldn't be a bad move in my opinion. We have a total of 12 points for the first three games. Our defense is as tough as any. Our ploblem is that our D and O is the same team. We platoon 2 to 3 players on either side of the ball. Some kids never get a break except for time outs or halftime. On another note , Me and the rest of The Greenwave Nation will be there in numbers wether we go 0-10 or 10-0 . We love our kids we love our school and we love where we are from. Hopefully we will have a ditto of last year. 0-3 then to the 6 A simi's. Go Green !

Greenwood took off and Meade couldn't get it going again. Our coaching staff baffles me. We have 38 players dressing, 5 of those are freshmen. We have 8 kids that never come off of the field. We have players that can give these kids a break for a play or two , but they never see action. Meade finished final four in 6A. We have 1700 kids at our school, You would think that we would have 70 to 80 players. The kids do not want to play for a team where no matter how hard they work, they know they will not get to play on Fridays. This is not my opinion this is from the kids who stand along the fence that played last year. Meade will lose alot of games this year in the 4th quarter. Great Job Gators!!!

At Meade we have close to 2000 kids. Our varsity dresses 42 players. This is for a 6A team that was a state simi finalist last year. In 1991 when we were 1A state runners up ,we had less than half the kids at our school and we dressed 20 more than this year.

Meade has lost 20 seniors. Also some of our key returners quit this year. We only have 42 kids on roster

We at Meade were heartbroken when we lost coach French, but before he left he built a tradition that our kids still live up to. No matter where he has been he leaves a positive impression. Lincoln will have no problem finding a good coach to step into a rising program. BC has got a heckofa coach. Can't waite to see the defensive numbers that they put up with Larry at the wheel. Good luck Lincoln. Congrats BC. Thanks Coach French for all you did for us at Meade.

We all get caught up in the things that our kids do. We try to let them live our dreams for us. I thank you for what you said to your son. I said and felt the same way last week when we lost to your team. I think the some in the world do not tell their kids enough how much that they are loved. Tell your son congrads from Meade co. and thank X for the hospitality that they showed the Greenwave last week.

For the second year in a role Coach Mofield of Meade co. got overlooked for coach of the year in the 2nd district 6A. His greenwave team has won the district 2 years in a role. The Greenwave had their 2nd best season in school history winning district, and region, and having beaten Male, Woodford, Owensboro, and Nelson twice. I just don't know how it can be given to the Nelson coach when Mofield was above and beyond the most successful coach in dis.2.On a better note, Congrads to JL Cannady for being named player of the year.:confused:
