Trinity vs. Saint Xavier 6A State Championship
I have not seen Trinity play. But to see X, the way they move the ball on offense and their defense making the reads and stops ,I think they will come out ahead. I believe that they are very well coached and very diciplined. They do not pass alot ,but with the running game that they have who needs to pass? If Trinity can stop the run and stop those crazy blitzing linebackers of X there can be a different outcome. X Men 27 Trinity 24 Good Luck Tigers & Rocks:thumb:

St. X 31 Meade Co. 3
The people at X stadium hosted us 1rst class. Playing there was the second best thing to playing at papa johns. We at Meade county envy at what you are doing on Poplar level. We really do thank you for hosting us in such a 1rst class manner. The kids are doing alright today. They and we are proud to have came this far this year. Again thank you X for showing a 1rst class playoff atmosphere last night Good luck from the GREENWAVE NATION maybe we will see you again next year:thumb:

I beleive that that was all of us. Tonight would have been a good time to commit a crime in Meade . I even think they let the prisoners at the jail watch themselves like the old Andy Griffith show.

St. X 31 Meade Co. 3
I guess your going to have to save us a section at the pizza palace. We almost made it as a family to the last week. But we love high school football and there will be a lot of the Greenwave Nation there to see the final game of the season. Good luck X and T next week and we will see ya'll there.

We will have very little comming back next year with expierience. We lose 21 seniors on a 53 player roster. We will have a strong backfield though. Alex Furnival and Tommy Arnold are junior and seniors respectively. It will be hard to replace JL Cannedy,qb. Chris Roe c,lb. and Nick Stennit te,lb. I should not even metion any names it is unfair to the rest of the seniors but these are the 3 who stand out. We do have alot of size next year . 2 kids 6'2 345 to 350 that are freshman this year. We also have 4 or 5 that go over 250 to 260 that are sophmores. We will just have to waite and see how Coach Mofield and coach Mattingly puts the puzzle together. Thank you guys for the class that you are showing on this thread. our kids are a good bunch that have alot to offer this world after football:thumb::thumb:

X had too much for Meade tonight. Meade could not get anything going. We were overmatched. I am proud of the way the Greenwave turned their season around. I do not want this to sound like I am disrespecting anyone so please don't take this wrong but, It is hard for a public school to compete with the likes of X and T. We have kids on our team that are in our school district only. As a public school we were playing against kids from all over the state and kids I believe from out of the state. The best of the best. I take nothing from X, they were and are the better team. We can talk about this until our faces turn blue. But everyone must agree that any public school consistantly cannot compete with X & T with the way they pull in players state wide. Greenwave you have nothing to be ashamed of. You gave it your all and that is all anyone can ask of you. Good luck St X and Trinity with what you have you are where you should be. This should be a great game next Saturday. May God bless both of you.:thumb:

Saint Xavier vs. Meade County
I as a Meade Co. fan want to thank those of you who reconize what hard work our kids have done this year.It means alot to the kids when they get on here and see others besides me reconizing what they have accomplished thus far. St. X is a great team. Our boys are gonna come to play this game. 11 on 11 it's that simple. Meade has less pressure than X,we are supposed to lose. Our kids are hard headed like most teenagers out there, they just don't listen to what the adults say they are supposed to do, such as losing...Lots of love from Meade co. And again thanks for the support. GO GREEN!!!!!:thumb:

Saint Xavier vs. Meade County
If we played 6 times it would probably go 3-3 . When people judge a bunch of kids that they do not know they are just guessing. The Big-O will play tough tonight. You know they will. I see you guys winning a tough battle. Good Luck and after the season we need to hook up with the families and go to the Moon and eat some burgoo

Saint Xavier vs. Meade County
I will take that bet. We play team football . 11 kids to the ball on D that will gang tackle you if you are struggling to stay up. On offense we try to block our man. It is 11 kids against 11 kids. Simple statement, but big task. We are winners no matter the outcome on Friday. We have been the underdog all year,so we are feeling right at home. Thank you guys for the compliments, I am sure the kids on both sides will read this forum and know how much love there is for both teams. I have put Meade first all year and I have got to stick with the Greenwave this week. I hope this is a low scoring game. Meade 20 X Men 17 GO GREEN!!!!!

Saint Xavier vs. Meade County
Meade will not come into this game with the nothing to lose attitude. They feel that they have the state to lose. We do not get the chance year in and year out to compete for the regional more less the quarters or state. We have been this far one time before, 1991 state runners up. We know that we are not supposed to win this game. We have a small line that mostly goes both ways. We have d backs that average 5'9 150. Our running backs 1 soph.5'8 170, 1 senior 5'9 165. We probably have 3 or 4 kids that run under a 4.6 40. Heck, we only dress 53 players. All this being said, any of you on this board would be proud of these kids if they represented your school. Meade County started out 0-3 and decided losing wasn't fun. 10 staight since. It is true that the X men are the best team in the state. Nobody would argue that. But the kids at Meade believe in themselves and they believe in each other. We as the Greenwave nation will stick behind these kids until the last second ticks off their season. Hopefully that will happen at Papa Johns. I believe that if Meade plays like it has been they have a decent chance to pull the upset. You can measure up the records of the schools X wins ,no contest. Atheletes X no contest, tradition X again. I can keep going but you get the picture. What you can't measure is love, for your teamates , your school, community, and the biggest thing you can't measure is heart. The Meade boys have the heart of Lion. I will tell you ,and listen to what I say....Meade will come to play Friday, will it be enough? I hope so, but I don't know. They are not getting the respect that I think any school should get that has gotten this far. We as adults some times get caught up in all the hype for ourselves. I am as guilty as anyone. By the time I set back and read some of the things I wrote the night before it is too late to edit. But it's the kids that play the game. 80% of the readers are kids. If it wasn't for the kids we would not even be in this forum. I am on this web sight to support the Greenwave I believe that they can win this. On any given night anyone can be beat. X fans you have a heckofa team. Good luck but not too much. Let the best team not win. GO GREEN!!!!!:thumb:

Mr. Football....late season ideas
Im going with a defensive player....Meade County Chris Roe Lb 156 tackles 11 for a loss.. 8 ints. 7 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries. He also was all area offensive lineman of the year 2 years running and defensive player 2 years running. He's our kicker , center, linebacker, and sometimes fullback. His most important position is team leader.

I also thank you for the directions.. is thurston before are after the stadium going north?

Bowling Green at Owensboro
This should put a very good Owensboro defense against a high output Purple offense. I would not want to be the odds maker in this one. I predict 1 touchdown wins this game. The winner........Heads or Tails? Good luck both teams and congrads for being this far in the season:thumb:

After our 3rd loss Coach Mofield told our kids that they have to hate losing more than they love winning. We have 16 or 17 seniors and I think 8 or 9 of them play. We have a balanced offense attack. 2100 yards passing and 1800 yards rushing. We have a senior Alex Furnival splitting time with Soph. Tommy Arnold slitting time at tailback. Both have 600 to 700 yards rushing for the year. Our QB JL Cannady has had a pretty good year with his favorite receiver Nick Stinnet making up for most of the catches. Our offensive line is small with a couple kids going 170 to 180lbs. Our deffense is led by a good LB. core with the anchor being Chris Roe. He leads the team with over 150 tackles for the year. Our D as a whole will get after you , I think that is the turning point of our season. We have 6or7 kids that never come off of the field. D,O, special teams it does'nt matter. We only dress 53 or 54 kids total.

Well said ....... And true with what you said. We in Meade are just a tight nit community. we are probably 20 years behind our counterparts 40 miles NE from here, but we like it like that. I and everyone knows what kind of tradition that X has. Maybe it's that you guys have a better program or you are always on top as a norm. You guys will always have a bullseye on your back. You are not a team that everyone loves to hate, rather you are the team that everyone measures up against. We all know out in the state that to get to the big show we are going to have to beat a small college level team in ST.X. I am sorry if I direspected anyone, but in the same breath, I did not feel that the overachieving kids from Brandenburg that has made it this far for only the 2nd time, were getting the respect that they deserve from some of the writers in this forum.

On paper we should not even be in this game. Why can't every once in a while a special group of kids can't come together and get a little respect. There are many post on this web sight that says Loiuisville teams are just better. There are other post that have X and the Rocks already playing in two weeks I think that there are 3 programs in Louisville that are above the in state schools, St.X, Trinity, and Male . The rest of the Ville teams are like us,just trying to make it to the playoffs and then see what happens. We in Meade are not dumb, we know that we are supposed to lose next Friday, we have had a great season . There's just one problem, Our kids believe in each other and they believe that they can win this game. As an outsider I would say X will roll on to another state championship. But as an ex player and a proud parent of a player on the 01 team and of a player on this team I have got to believe in our kids if they believe in themselves. These game are not won in a bluegrass Preps forum, they are won by a bunch teenagers having the time of their lives. I am sorry if I affended anyone, there are several people who write about X on BP. I am one of the few who talks for the Greenwave. Our kids as yours read these post. They love to get on here and see that someone is writing about them. And backing them on this web site. Good luck St.X, but not too much from the Greenwave Nation

Let me ask you a question. How many kids on the X team went to elementery school together ? How many kids on the X team grw up in the same neighborhood? How many kids on X even knew each other before putting on the pads at tryouts. I would say a small percent. X plays for it's school and it's school only. We have some athletes that would star on X's team, but they never considered transfering to a private school where tuition is more than most colleges. Meade has never went out of the county to try to find players in the Catholic and pop warner programs to help them win championships. Nor has our kids went elswhere to play where they know that they would have a better chance to win. We at Meade do not put a million dollars a year in our football program, We keep the same uniforms until they are wore out and then we give them to the freshman. There is one thing that we have that you can't hang in the rafters or put in a trophy case, and that is a FAMILY that loves us and has watched us grow since we were babies. We will know the kids who came through our program 30 years from now. Just look at our sideline and see the explayers lined up on the fence. We have something that we can hold on to for life. A Meade Co. home where the community loves us if we are 0-9 or 9-0 just the same. So ten years from now when you are trying to remember the names of the X players on the 07 team you will have to pull out an old program, in Meade county all you have to do is go next door or down the street. GO GREEN!!!!!

This is what We as Meade Countians love to hear. When a team is overlooking you to get to the next one. I admit, we will be big under dogs as we always are, but I keep having flashbacks of the 01 season when the impossible was made possible.:thumb:

Meade County 25 Male 3 (6A)
Meades deffense stepped up in a very big way tonight. Male had less than 70 yards rushing and 171 yards passing. Most of their rushing yards came on qb draws. Meade forced 8 turnovers, 6ints. and 2 fumble recoveries. Meades offense was led by # 30 Nick Stinnet who had 7 catch's for 147 yards and 1 td. JL Cannedy completed 21 0f 32 for 240 yards. This is the first time in 12 years that a Male team has been kept out of the endzone. These kids on Meades team never quit, after starting out 0-3 they have reeled off 10 staight wins. We have no size, no team speed, or that sure D1 player on our team. But what we do have is a great coaching staff and 60 kids who leave it all on the field on Friday nights for each other, thier school and thier community. Now we have the toughest test thus far against a great X team next Friday, but if the stars and planets are alligned just right, we could pull another shocker. To be the best you have to beat the best! GO GREEN!!!!!
