Long Time Warrior

Here's my question from the other night and I thought I'd put it out to you guys as well. Rockcastle is ranked higher in most polls over Southwestern. After Saturday night do you feel they should as well? Rockcastle won over Corbin 2-0 and last season lost to Danville by 30. Southwestern won over Corbin last season 13-7 I believe and this season lost to Danville 33-30. These two teams don't play this season but my question for all is are these two teams evenly matched or is one in you opinion better than the other?

Commando, don't give in your wearing them down. Two things guys, Southwestern pass blocking crew was outstanding. I believe Jones got sacked twice once was very late in the game. He threw the ball with great precision the other night and was not being forced but a couple of times. Danville was sending several on passing downs. Great job by the O-line. Second rush blocking and run stopping looked good at times and at others looked average. SW prides itself on running the ball and blocking to make that happen. Danville may have been quicker or may have been reading the plays somewhat but SW was much bigger up front. Running and throwing for both teams was great for the fans. Even Danville had to start passing the ball. Great game by both squads each did what they had to do to win. If you have a chance to win at the end, then that's all you can ask for. One cub was going to win or lose on the score board but on that field after that game I'm sure no one in the bleacher felt like there were any loser but all were winners.

I would agree with this top picks. It's hard to figure teams out without a couple under their belt. I'll go with this line up. 1. Bell Co. 2. Belfry 3. Johnson Central 4. Pineville 5. Sheldon Clark 6. Lesle Co. 7. Rockcastle Co. 8. Southwestern 9. Corbin 10. Whitley Co. Reason, Top seven win and bottom three lose in very close games to good teams. Next week, if someone in the top seven lose they drop and everyone moves up.

Here's a funny twist to this thing. If you watch the video tape of the game on WYMT it looks to me like the QB for Corbin was dragged backwards into the end-zone for the safety. Now my understanding is he should have gotten forward progress if he didn't turn and try to run around the defense. Just looks that way to me on film. I was at the game when this score was put up but was at the other end of the field.

Very much so, he has a boy playing now for the new Bulldogs team. Great guy and still a friend of mine whom I don't see often enough. Others were Lee, Allen, and Hicks. Hey, you wouldn't know if they are going to have alumni night would you? If they do I love to see some of the old guys.

^ You need to get to the Bob Allen Classic in Danville. Every thing you mentioned will not happen there. The press this thing gets it great. The way it runs is great and even the match ups are very competive. Last nights games the winning teams won by 2 and 3 respectfully.

:thumb: Good luck guys and have a good season. It was fun once again, I hope we can have SW VS AD's III next season. No blow-outs at the Bob ALLEN Pig-Skin Classic. It's worth the admission.

^ That is correct and you would have thought we won a STATE TITLE. Ending that streak was the only thing we accomplished that season. To bad it was the final season to a program. At the time I didn't know that. I'm glad they are back on the field and people and players are interested. When I moved to Pulaski Co. and my son got interested in playing football it was great. I remember going to Southwestern for the first time and thinking "My God look at all those players on the field"? We had if I'm not mistaken 17 or 19 players on that team. You would have played three different positions before the game was over because of injuryed players. Strong safety, LB, to DL at games end.

Watched this game after half time. It was 0-0 then. Defense and flags at really bad times. I believe both teams were in the Red-Zone in the second half and neither scored. Rockcastle went for it on fourth down and turned the ball over, then Corbin was in the shadow of their on goal post tried to pass on third down was sacked. Only points of the game. The radio guys were going on if you wanted a good ole defensive game you got it in the first game if you wanted a shoot out you got it in the second. Good luck both teams rest of the season.

Are they still playing?? I heard it was a strom delayed game and everything. This game wasn't over even at mid-night (EST). I was talking to someone at the game last night and she said that it was going on forever!! Great first win for the Bulldogs and hope you have a great first year. Side note: I played on their last seasons team to have football 24 years ago before they canceled football at Clinton County.

Wasn't that the most fun ever at a football game, unless you throw in last years as well. Come up 3 points short again. Dang it. GREAT GREAT GAME though!!

I would like to say as well, Ad's played till the clock runs out baby. If I could watch a game like this every night I be there early and happy. Ad's look really good and played their guts out tonight, Class act in Danville as always. A big thumbs up to you guys as well. Southwestern you guys come home and continue this playing and you get wins. No losers tonight. No two or three TD win for either team as I said eariler this week no one wins with this one by more than a TD. I thought 30 points wins it for SW but the Ads score with under a minute and a half. Can't let out. My question for all who were at this game have you ever seen a game with NO holding calls? This made it fun fun fun to watch. There was one against us but it was declined to take the down. Was a GREAT GAME by both teams good luck Danville the rest of the season.

Going to be another good one early in the season. Last years game even though we can up a little short was probably the "best" high school football game I have ever watched. The crowd was "CRAZY" and it was a good one. Had a friend fly in from Florida just to see this game. We got to see my kid score on a long TD pass play to put SW up by 14. Then Jeffery Guest hits the field under center and the AD's make it a tie ball game by half time. Got to see it on TV the following Sunday and it was still a good one to watch. Same old predictions as last year, was one of the best games to watch last season. Danville won by 3 and we had our chance to win it having the ball at the end of the game. Neither team wins by more than 7.

Who did Bullitt East scrimmage against this season? I can't find anything about who they played and how they did?

It's on Saturday at 8 pm. Southwestern vs Danville. First game is Rockcastle Co. vs Corbin, this should be a good one as well.

This kid can kick punts now! Last year he was booming them in warmups and during the game. We called time out and made him kick into the wind during our game last season. He can kick a ball now...................... As for no punts I wouldn't say that now........LTW.

What is it, did we do something to mess with you. I've never been nothing but complimentry of your squad. BE will be in the mix as always. I thought last season we should have been in the top ten and wasn't I believe your guys were. I didn't get on here downing your squad so take it for what it is PRE-SEASON poll nothing more. GEZZZZ!! I went back and looked you guys weren't ranked in the top ten pre-season last year but you enter it and stayed if I remember right. And one team fell out the second week not to return.
