Who played more at QB early - not mop up - Pooler or Sivori? From an admittedly uninformed perspective, I think Sivori is X's better option.

With West at QB, Trinity ended up being "undermanned" at both RB and QB. I don't recall many, if any, 2-back sets. If I'm not mistaken, West was in the running to be the starting QB before McElroy emerged a couple of years ago.

According to the Trinity radio guys Ballard had 9 yards total offense and 1 first down. I'm still a little concerned about the OL for Trinity. West became more comfortable at QB as the game went on, I thought.

I must say this was closer than I thought it would be.

The Shamrocks won the 2-day tournament in Bowling Green after finishing as runner-up last year. I do not know who finished 2nd, 3rd etc., or who won the individual trophy. The team will be honored at halftime of the Ballard football game Friday.

I've inferred from some posts on BGP that CCH does not like to travel much. Would St. X be willing to go Covington? I guess they would. To my way of thinking, this would be an unexpectedly fun and exciting match.

Trinity held the Tigers to 48 yards offense-----57 passing and -9 rushing. The Shamrocks also held Male to negative yards rushing.

This is an uplifting story.

Trinity has a bunch of good LB's, including as of this moment an Appalachian State commit (Ely) and a Cincinnati commit (Dingle).........although Ely has been playing on the DL lately. Don't know if it is because of injuries or just because it makes the defense better. I don't want to be negative in the wake of a big win, but I don't think T's offense has been as sharp this year as it was last year. Hopefully. it will get better.

Is T's QB named Sasser by any chance?

In 6A Trinity is not listed in rushing defense. Has to be an oversight. I believe they held Male to -35 yards. Don't know what they gave up against Moeller.

I don't see a running clock. From what I've seen of T this year (just the first game on TV), I don't think the Rocks' passing game is quite up to last year's standards yet.... with Miller and Racculia (sp) graduated. Likewise for the OL. Do I think they will eventually get to where they were last year? Yes. On the other hand I do not think T's running backs - Tucker and West - get the credit they deserve. Tucker is a track guy and is hard to catch if he gets loose. He runs very hard. West is tough and shifty. Trinity's defense is really good IMO and they can shut down most teams. Two of their best players were out with injuries against Male. I don't know their status for the X game. Having followed this rivalry for many decades I feel that blowouts are not the norm. Both teams will want this game bad.
