I've checked with Elvis, Jim Morrison, Sasquatch (Sorry Bobo and Renee), the Loch Ness Monster, the Legend of Wooly Swamp and all 40 of the kids throwing 90+ in Kentucky and none of them are on the list.

I heard that a waterboy from school #1 who was implicated in rules violations 2 and 5 was at a horse farm near Lexington talking with a private school in the area about transferring. Was told he had a golden bucket clause. Was also told this kid could get from sideline to huddle in 2.33 seconds and could sling water 96 mph without spilling a drop.

Really? Cheap shot at best. SK did what they needed to do to get where they got. So do all the other schools like Bellevue and St. Henry. And you don't "petition" to get into a region, you are assigned there by the KHSAA. Maybe we should send Ryle to a Louisville Region or perhaps maybe Dixie to the Lexington Region. Sheesh.

You heard wrong. They didn't get onto the field until 55 minutes before the game. And the Bellevue warm-up routine consists of running and stretching BEFORE they throw a pitch to get loose. And while I'm quite certain that the young man was nervous and anxious, I'm equally certain that their coaches were aware of his warm-up situation. Not sure where you were going with that but those are the facts. The kid probably was a bit early when he finished his warm-ups, but the amount of work warming up was nothing unusual for one of their pitchers. I'm also pretty sure they were given a 45 minute time frame for starting that ended up being right at an hour. Not good, but not the worst thing in the world.

Hellbird I usually agree with much of what you say, but this one is too far. Why do coaches have this responsibility? What more do you want to put on the coaches? Control the game, control the players, now control the stands? Ban parents/fans? Okay, but let the school administration do that. And exactly where do you draw the line? The extreme case is easy, but what about that guy that goes crazy then backs off for awhile? Pretty tough call to make, especially for somebody who is likely focused on the game rather than the fans in the stands. Blaming coaches and/or schools for the poor behavior of fans is pretty thin. I'll agree about issuing some consequences for boorish behavior, but not in any way would I put it on the coaches.

Well I WAS there and your description is incorrect. The player had the ball, the question was whether he was on the bag or not, which, by the way, he was. The game was cancelled for legit reasons, none of which had to do with fear of losing to Ludlow. Get over it and quit beating a dead horse that doesn't even exist in the first place. Coach Grey has done a great job with those players, why don't you focus on that for a while?

This happens this time of year with everyone. Unfortunately it seems to have bitten Cooper a lot lately. With the rain-outs etc., teams have to move around games to make up conference games or seeding games and so forth. If a team has scheduled heavy late, like most teams do, then that means having to cancel some to get in others. It's what happens to a sport so dependent on the weather.

It's because of the grip. He holds it like a football. Several of Meyerhoff's former players have learned it. Great pitch, reduces strain from the curveball. If you know how to throw it, and Seiter does, it is very, very effective.

What you think is a curve is actually a change up. He's thrown it for the last two years. Looks like a curve but without the arm strain. He is very effective with it. He does throw the curve but much less than it appears.

Solid win for Bellevue. Seiter goes to 4 and 2 on the year. Pendleton can hit!!

Fun one to watch. Bellevue prevailed 6 to 5 in nine innings. Coach Gray has done a very nice job at Ludlow already. Windy and surprisingly chilly night on the banks of the Ohio.

Everyone considers the arms during cold weather and rightfully so, but don't forget about leg and back muscle injuries. Warming up and stretching lose their effectiveness in these kinds of conditions and athletes become prone to hamstring pulls and muscle pulls due to cold bodies. 45 degrees is about the lowest I'd play in, but that's just me FWIW.
