  1. Just saying that somehow they have 2 high schools, but play as one! I'm not complaining! So, if you know so much Ram, why don't you help us understand what the Scott County students were referring too!
  2. Wow! How is that not seen by someone on the field? That's pathetic! The refs should be reprimanded by the KHSAA!
  3. So, I was in Georgetown tonight and heard some talk from Scott County students saying that the new Elkhorn High School was Scott County's way to keep their sports teams in tact and get around the need to divide the school district. They went on to say that Scott County Athletics would do anything they could to keep the athletes in the one school. Would anyone from Scott County care to elaborate on how they are beating the system with the Elkhorn High School?
  4. It all goes back to the Private School verses Public School thing. But from what I have heard from some reliable sources PRP has ended up with some players that should have been at Butler in years past. Gary Ball didn't even acknowledge the comment, but Doug Flynn did bring it up once during the game. You may not like Miller or Harrison County Coach Mac Whitaker, but you do have to admit that they are winners!
  5. He gutted it out for 7 innings and if Harrison could have held them in the 7th or if King had been awarded 1st Base on the questionale HBP who knows what may have happened. As Gary Ball and Doug Flynn said Harrison County never rebuilds, they just reload!
  6. The Coach is wrong and the OHSAA is wrong for permitting this to happen. Central Hardin had a player suspended for the opening round of the Sweet 16, his team won, he learned his lesson and they are in the Final 4. In my opinion the Coach has everything out of perspective, the OHSAA has no control and the umpire was totally right in tossing the young man!
  7. 2-1 going into the 7th inning when Central Hardin really got to Martin. A Martin error helped Central Hardin score their first 2 runs. Harrison cut it to 2-1 by scoring a run in the 5th or 6th inning without getting a hit. Harrison was held to 1 hit for the game. Great season for the young Thorobreds. The 3 Seniors will be missed. Of those 3 seniors Brandon Kendall and Martin were the top 2 pitchers for Harrison County. Good luck to all the Seniors!
  8. St. X could have won if they had not made so many baserunning mistakes. 2 runners picked off 2nd base (1 in the 7th inning) and a runner thrown out going from 1st to 3rd on a single to left field also in the 7th inning. Bill Miller of PRP has 1013 wins now if I am not mistaken. I really liked his pre game statement about St. X. When Gary Ball asked him about the good run St. X was having making it to 3 straight State Tournaments, Coach Millers response was something like, (Well, with all the good athletes they run through that school if the Coach can't take them to the State Tournament every year they should be fired.) LOL
  9. The Baseball Regions were aligned different during Coach Don Snopek's coaching career.
  10. Congratulations to Coach Mac Whitaker and the Thorobreds on the win. Campbell County put up a great fight, but the Breds are playing Mac's "Small Ball" at the right time. They have allowed I think 3 runs in 5 post season games. Good Luck next week!!!
  11. Nicholas got to .500 with the win, but lost to Harrison County 2-0 in the finals to fall 1 game below .500.
  12. Harrison is not scoring as many runs, but the pitching and defense is really coming around for them.
  13. Parents don't get kids playing time! The players have to do it themselves. If the 7th grader is better, put him on the team. Harrison County won a State Tournament with a 12 year old at 3rd base.
  14. Harrison County vs Bracken County @ 10:00 Montgomery County vs Scott High @ 12:30 Campbell County vs Nicholas County @ 3:00 Mason County vs Bourbon County @ 5:30 Could have some very good 1st Round match-ups!
  15. Pendleton seemed to regress a bit this year following last year's 18-11 season with an 11-23 season this year. Still some good young talent on the team. Good luck to Coach Biddle as he tries to right the ship for 2014.
  16. Congrats to Jordan and the Breds. Jordan has really been pitching well as of late, not the he had a bad start, but his last several outings have been very productive. Peaking at the right time. Good luck to Jordan, Coach Whitaker and the rest of the Thorobreds in the 10th Region Tournament. Who pitched for Nicholas County? He must have pitched well too! Turned on the radio to check the score and it was over! One of the fastest games I can remember to go 6 1/2 innings!
  17. Bluejackets advance to play Harrison County for the 38th District Championship for the 7th consecutive year. JD Wagner goes the distance for Nicholas as Pendleton County's season comes to an end with an 11-23 record. Good luck Coach Whitaker and the Thorobreds in the 38th District Championship game scheduled for 2:00 p.m. today. Good luck to both the Thorobreds and Bluejackets in next weeks 10th Region Tournament.
  18. I'm not sure who beat Franklin County 1-0 for Harrison County, but Martin got rocked in Florida giving up 4 runs in a 10-0 loss. I heard Brandon Kendall was pitching better than Jordan Martin for Harrison County so far this season. Martin can be good, but he can be a head case too and Kendall is more even keeled. Harrison has got to find that 3rd pitcher to be considered a serious contender. I am hoping to start to get to see some games in the near future. Hopefully Martin gets on track, Kendall remains healthy and consistent and the Breds find that 3rd pitcher and make it back to Whitaker Bank Park!
  19. Coach Mac Whitaker and the Harrison County Thorobreds will bunt a lot with 2 strikes!
