Very well said. I hope that his teammates, coaches and fans rally around him. His play was not the only play that hurt, it was just the last play. I do sympathize with any kid when something like this happens. I guess that just being raised in Harrison County and playing for Coach Snopek and Coach Whitaker you learn to respect the game above all else and throwing of bats, gloves, etc. is not tolerated.

Congratulations to Central Hardin on the State Championship and congratulations to Mercer County on an outstanding season. Again, Mercer County left it all on the field with the win over PRP and were really at a disadvantage by playing so late last night. But honestly, the best team did win.

I have played at a competitive level as have my sons. I witnessed Harrison County lose a 1-0 9 inning game a few years ago to Lexington Catholic in the State Tournament on a ground ball that many thought was a routine play to the shortstop. The ball actually took a bad hop just before getting to him. He was visibly upset, but he didn't shun his teammates, he didn't throw his glove, he got in the line-up and shook hands with the Catholic players. Although upset over the play, this young man showed class and character in the situation unlike what was witnessed in this situation. I also saw a player this year who got robbed on a home run call go to the field and throw his glove down and the coach benched him immediately for it. This is how baseball should be played and how the players should react. Being around high school baseball for over 25 years I just can't see how anyone can defend this type of behavior. This is all I have to say on this issue. I do sympathize with the kid, but I do wish he had shown more class and character when the game was over.

His behavior after the play is an issue. Respect for the game means no throwing gloves, bats, helmets, hats in anger, period. And for fans not to see it as an issue is what is wrong with some of today's players. In my opinion a very disrespectful move that showed lack of class. I have seen other games end in the State Tournament in years past similar to this and the kids showed class and respect for the game through their disappointment and didn't lay on the ground for minutes, reject a teammate and throw their glove. This kid needs to grow up!

I agree to a certain point, but his attitude after the play was ridiculous. 1) He laid out there and then shunned a teammate who come out to console him and 2) He threw his glove which is so childish! It wasn't the gloves fault. Kids need to learn to respect the game and should be taught that. He will be more remembered for how foolish he acted after the play than the actual play itself. The one play did not cost PRP the game. Look back at it and you will see that it was a culmination of several plays that caused them to lose. Pray that this young man will learn to handle adversity better than he did in this situation.

In my opinion not much of a surprise. Bourbon used all their pitching and won an emotional marathon last night in beating Harrison County. Congratulations to Coach Larry Allison and the Cardinals on the win and also congratulations to Coach Nelson Farris and the Colonels on an outstanding season.

If I am not mistaken the radio had him at 140+ pitches

Final. Bourbon County improves to 25-8 while Harrison County finishes the season at 20-10. Brandon Kendall pitches a solid 9 innings for the Thorobreds giving up only 1 earned run. Harrison flirted with disaster all night as Bourbon County squandered chance after chance to score, but finally in the 11th they were able to finsih off the Breds.

"I think Clark will win a nail biter in this one. Clark 5 Campbell 4." Oh well I missed each team by 1 run, but it was a nail biter.

Should be 2 good games on Wednesday at the "Hump" in Campbell County.

Yes Mullins is eligible to pitch for Bourbon. Either Kendall or Fowler should get the nod for the Breds. Should be a good one. Harrison plays small ball and wins it 4-2.

Another case of Coach Whitaker getting thumped during the regular season and avenging the loss in the Region. Looks like the Northern Kentucky teams would know by now that it doesn't prove anything to beat Harrison County during the regular season..

Hopefully the Wildcats will rally in their last 3 at bats and be able to overcome the 5 run deficit and force a Thursday night Championship Game, Nicholas will have to pitch a different pitcher.

The Pendleton County vs Nicholas County game was delayed today in the bottom of the 4th inning with Nicholas County batting and leading 6-1. A tornado warning was issued for Pendleton County and the fans and players were escorted to Southern Elementary to take shelter. Thankfully no tornado was spotted in the area. Tyler Daugherty started for Pendleton, Brent Jacob came on in the 3rd and Trent Turner in the 4tyh as Nicholas came out swinging and Pendleton made some mistakes in the field. The game is delayed until Tuesday at 4:30 weather permitting and will pick up with Nicholas County hitting with the bases loaded and 2 out. The Championship Game of the 38th District has been moved to Wednesday night. Wagner pitched very well for Nicholas County thru 4 innings working out of a bases loaded one out jam in the first as Pendleton had already scored the one run and failed to add any additional runs. Nicholas had a chance to go up 7-1 on a fly ball to left field, but the runner at third did not tag and thus the score remains 6-1 with Nicholas County batting in the bottom of the 4th inning.

All I was saying is that if the homeplate umpire had called the 3rd strike nothing in the 8th inning would have happened. Biscuit did pitch very well and kept the Pendleton hitters off stride.
