Any chance Wednesday's games get pushed back to 6 and 8:30 or have one game Wednesday at 7, one Thursday at 7 and the championship on Friday at 7. If this was football practice no way those afternoon games get played on account of heat index that they always complain about . This week is going to be really bad for heat index, August/September-like.

Another case of Coach Whitaker getting thumped during the regular season and avenging the loss in the Region. Looks like the Northern Kentucky teams would know by now that it doesn't prove anything to beat Harrison County during the regular season..

I sincerely doubt that the Mustangs hung their hat on that run-rule win earlier this season in Cynthiana, or in any way considered themselves superior to the defending state champs.

 

Obviously Martin didn't pitch that one, and everyone knows that Mac will take his best shot at you in the district/regional tournament. The Mustangs were disadvantaged by losing the district finals to Campbell County, placing themselves in a postiion of having to face the Breds with a fresh pitching staff.

 

We were sincerely hoping that perhaps our guys were good enough to take out Harrison County straight up, which obviously wasn't the case on this day.

Actually, if it was football practice they would have still practiced besides the gear would have been off. The heat index was in the low 90s until the breeze stopped in this game. I really cannot see the games getting pushed back but I have been wrong sometimes - HA. The umpire is fine and once he got some Gatorade in him he felt much better. According to some about the 3rd or 4th pitch of the game he was already drenched then he completely stopped sweating and then he knew he was in trouble.

 

What is interesting talking with some other people at the tournament today, the 8th (I think the 8th @ SK) never had a reading above 90 and Florence Freedom never had to delay and they were on TURF!

Interesting, they were suppose to take a 10 minute break every 30 minutes once the heat index got to 95.
