  1. That must have been a really good ball game. Congrats to the Mustangs for advancing and to the Cardinals for getting thier season turned around after a rough start.
  2. You can go to wcyn.com and click the Listen Live link at the top of the page and listen to all the 10th Region Games with the play by play of "Jumpin" Jim Swinford voice of the Harrison County Thorobreds.
  3. The Wagner kid from Nicholas County LH Junior is very tough too. Saw him throwing on Monday and he has very good form, looks to be in low to mid 80's and locates well.
  4. Congrats to the Pendleton County Seniors on really working hard to turn things around. Best of luck to all of you as you graduate high school and pursue your educational and athletic futures. You all have a lot to be proud of!
  5. The Bluejackets hold off a Wildcat rally in the bottom of the 7th to advance to the 38th District Championship Game against Harrison County of Wednesday. The game resumed today with Nicholas up 1-0 in the 4th. Nicholas added 1 in the 4th to take a 2-0 lead. Pendleton cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the 4th. In the top of the 6th Nicholas scored 3 times thanks in part to some poor defense from the Wildcats. Trailing 5-1 going into the bottom of the 7th, Pendleton scored 1 to make it 5-2 and had the bases loaded with no outs, but the top of the line-up failed to come thru and the game ended 5-2. Nicholas County improves to 19-14 while Pendleton County finishes the season at 18-11. Congratulations to Coach Hamm, Coach Yelton and Coach Biddle on a great season!
  6. Yes they do have and they won some quality games. Good luck to the Wildcats on Monday. Get back to the 10th Region Tournament!
  7. The Wildcats overcome 4 errors in the 1st inning and win the season finale at Falmouth today. Junior - Tyler Daugherty gets the win. Pendleton County finishes the regular season with an 18-10 record. The Wildcats will battle 38th District rival Nicholas County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the Hilltop in Harrison County. Good Luck Wildcats!
  8. Congrats to the Wildcats for improving to 15-10 on the season!
  9. I agree! I was just saying that to compete they need to get some runs. You can win by scoring no runs.
  10. I coached for many years coaching youth from age 5 to age 16 and some of my most fond memories were when I had special needs children playing for me and the fun that we all had. The entire team learned from the special needs children. Hats off to Augusta and St. Pat for making a lifetime memory for this young man!
  11. Pendleton County has got to score some runs! The upperclassmen need to step it up at the plate unless they are satisfied with their season ending soon. The pitching staff is giving up only 4 runs a game and at most, 1.5 of those runs are earned.
  12. Bracken County completes the season sweep as they shut out the Wildcats today in Brooksville. The Wildcats are now scoreless in their last 14 innings! The win improves the Polar Bears to 16-10 on the year while Pendleton County drops to 12-10. Senior Brent Jacob took the loss for the Wildcats.
  13. PCHS needs to hit better against the good pitching. Their pitching and defense are improving.
  14. Final from the Hilltop. Brandon Kendall throws a no-hitter for Harrison and outduels Brent Jacob of the Wildcats. Pendleton Co 0-0-2 Harrison Co 3-5-2 Harrison County improves to 21-5 on the year and Pendleton County falls to 12-9. A very nice ballgame from both teams. Pendleton strands 2 runners and Harrison leaves 7 runners on base.
  15. Both teams have held back their best pitchers for their match-up in the District. It should be another good one.
  16. Congrats to Pendleton on the win and on improving their record to 12-8 on the season.
  17. The Mullins kid from Bourbon County would also have to be considered. Article in Friday's Lexington Herald about him and all the scouts watching him pitch. Tall lefty throwing in the 90's.
  18. Harrison continues to make errors in the field that cost them. Until they improve defensively they can and will get beat. GRC seems to be on a roll now. Regional Tournament should be a good one again!
  19. Final from Falmouth tonight. Freshman Josh Brown goes the 1st 6 innings and Tyler Daugherty finishes as Pendleton County goes to 9-8 on the season. This is a very nice win for the Wildcats.
  20. Yeah it seems to be a familiar pattern. Fall behind 8-1 after 2 giving up 7 unearned runs and it takes the life out of you. Pendleton needs the effort they put forth against Pulaski County on a consistent basis. Walton Verona has a pretty good little ball club too.
  21. Pendleton County drops to 8-8 on the season and plays host to Nicholas County on Tuesday.
  22. Brent Jacob goes the distance for the Wildcats as they improve to 5-4 on the year with the win today in Frankfort. With the win Jacob is now 4-0 on the season. The loss drops Frankfort to 5-5 on the season.
  23. A public apology in front of the team or anyone who heard it would be my request. The coach has to have their players respect and even if the player raises his voice at the coach there should be consequences whether cussing is involved or not. Parents have ruined today's youth. No respect for authority for anything whether at school, at work or on the playing field. Stop treating your children like babies, let them grow up and see that all things are not fair. A second offense would be dismissal from the team.
