Hilltopper2005 replied to KY Thorobred's topic in KY Football (High School)
Congrats to the Thorobreds on keeping this one close! -
Not that it matters to many, but Harrison County Football has reached an all time low. Very few players on the team and an 0-6 start. On top of that several Seniors QUIT! They quit on themselves, their teammates, their coaches and the school. Why quit when you made the commitment to be there? Quit now and you will always quit when times get rough in other things too. Makes no sense to me at all how parents would encourage quitting and allow quitting. This program is at an all time low and it is not the new Coaches fault. It will take time and some on the field leadership from players who are upperclassmen and not quitters. I don't think Harrison County gave Coach Graham the credit he deserved for keeping the program competitive for years. But the last 2 hires by the administration prior to Coach Carr have been disastrous. Good luck to the young Thorobreds and hang in there because there will be rewarding times to come. To the Senior "Quitters" may you some day grow up!

Not that it matters, but Harrison County football may be at an all-time low. The team has had several injuries and several seniors have quit the team. Why on earth would parents allow their kids to quit the team I have no idea. Boo to the seniors that quit and best of luck to the young Thorobreds who stick with the dismal program. -
I agree with KY Thorobred 85 - 85 is not anything to write home about at a 5A school when you play Paris 2 times every year and not a powerful schedule. Not sure it was all Coach Combs or who he surrounded himself with, but I personally saw them get outcoached in several games where they had the best talent.

Who Will Be The Next Coach At Pendleton County?
Hilltopper2005 replied to Hilltopper2005's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Congrats to Coach Biddle and best of luck in the 2013 season and for years to come! -
Who will be the next Coach at Pendleton County? Head Coach Josh Hamm and Assistant Coach Brent Yelton apparently have both resigned after getting the program turned in the right direction with back to back winning seasons (13-12 in 2011 and 18-13 in 2012). The obvious choice should be Coach Biddle who has previous experience as a Head Coach at Williamstown and has been an Assistant under Coach Hamm the past 2 years. Good luck to Coach Hamm and Coach Yelton and best wishes that Coach Biddle will get the position and continue the winning tradition.

I knew as well as everyone else did that Harrison County didn't stand a chance in this one. I am a bit curious as to why former Harrison County Football Player and current Scott County Coach Jim McKee would go for 2 points with a 40+ point lead? It's not as if he showed any class with that move. Just another reason to not like Scott County athletics. Coach McKee you are a loser. -

Its nice to see an 11th Region Team win and not have Lexington as part of its name. Nothing personal! -

Very nice win for the Mustangs. I know someone who is at a Basketball Camp and wishing he had been able to stay for the Baseball State Championship. Best of luck to Brossart in the Semi's on Friday. -
Congrats to the Mustangs on the opening round win!

I am just basing it on what I heard on the radio as I was not there. It sounded as if some of the kids battled and some showed no heart! -
He was unable to pitch because he said his arm was sore.

I am talking about the play in the last inning. The umpire made the correct call on that one if the ball hits the ground first the batter is not awarded a base or if he does not make an attempt to get out of the way he is not awarded a base. -
Good Luck and enjoy the festivities of the Baseball Sweet 16. Nothing like it!

Brossart won and Harrison County didn't. The little chant that says you gotta want it to win it and Brossart wanted it more than Harrison County. The hit batter after the ball hit the dirt is the correct call. Congrats to Brossart. -
The call didn't beat Harrison County. They were satisfied with beating Bourbon County last night and for whatever reason many of them showed no heart or will to want to win today.

Harrison County didn't save their ace, their ace couldn't go tonight due to a sore arm. Congrats to the Mustangs on their win and best of luck to them in the State Tournament.
-
Congratulations to the Mustangs on winning the 10th Region. Good luck in the State Tournament, represent the 10th Region well.

No he complained of a sore arm! Believe me there was no saving him for the State Tournament. He couldn't go apparently. -

Wow I can't believe Martin is not pitching tonight! There is no doubt that if Kendall had pitched 5 innings on Monday that he would have been on the mound for the Championship Game tonight. -

According to WCYN Harrison County had 1 hit. The winning run came in on a surprise steal of home in the bottom of the 5th inning by Paul Jones when Chase Mullins threw the ball over the catchers head. -

Same old story year after year! As a wise fan from Harrison County said many years ago at the Regional Tournament in Campbell County, "Welcome to the 10th Region Scott High!".
