Tom Arnzen 3rd Base, Pitcher CovCath AVG 0.500 OBP 0.500 SLG 0.680 ERA 0.44 W/L 2-0

 

Ben Maile Pitcher, DH, 1st Base CovCath AVG 0.405 OBP 0.577 SLG 0.946 (5 HR's) ERA 1.05 W/L 4-0

 

Not bad numbers at all from two seniors playing against quality teams, with a 15-1 record

The Mullins kid from Bourbon County would also have to be considered. Article in Friday's Lexington Herald about him and all the scouts watching him pitch. Tall lefty throwing in the 90's.

Chase Mullins from Bourbon County is an absolute stud. He throws extremely hard, and it doesn't hurt that he has a 6'8, 235 lb frame. He can hit the ball a ton too. I remember Harrison County intentionally walked him five times in the Regional Tournament last year. UK is getting a good one in Mullins.

 

Another UK commit, Zach Arnold of Franklin County, is hitting .491, and is an absolute stud defensively.

First time around on the POY considerations......

 

For the old guard, a question.......In the past, what was given more consideration? Pitching, hitting, fielding, or a true combination of all? Can a very good middle infielder with great glove and arm that makes spectacular plays beat out a pitcher that starts every 4 days but has great stuff and receives press?

Two great choices. Both are very nice players and deserve to be considered. I will go with Tom Arnzen as my choice.
