Jot India in the Newport Shopping Center is the best Indian restaurant I've been to! The guy that runs the place, Sing, is the most genuinely nice person I've seen running a restaurant. The entire staff is friendly and do an excellent job. The lamb vindaloo is spectacular! My wife swears by the chicken tikka masala and they have a great selection of nan and other great items. I highly recommend this place, do yourself a favor and give it a try!

I've had tennis elbow, got a cortisone shot because it was pretty severe and just wouldn't go away no matter what I did. The shot took care of it. Have had a small bout of plantar fasciitis, just stretched and used a frozen orange juice container to roll my foot on, got better. The absolute worst I've dealt with is gout. A severe attack, and I've had several of severe attacks, is just awful. Just a sheet touching your foot can send you through the roof. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

It might be tough to top Ruby's around here. McCormick & Schmick's used to be good, I admit I haven't been there in years though. Pricy for sure. Recommend a reservation. Pelicans Reef can be hit or miss. Had some really good meals there, had a few not so hot. I've had a few people tell me they liked the Court Street Lobster Bar. I've never been so I can't offer any opinion. Trotta's Steak & Seafood is good, I've only had the king crab legs and they were quite good. I usually get steak there. Limited seafood menu. Not cheap. You'll need a reservation. I've been to Cincy Seafood once, didn't care for it. I could have caught them on a bad night. Not a traditional seafood place but Knotty Pine on the Bayou has some really good sea scallops with creole sauce. They also offer Chilean sea bass, oysters Bienville, fried oysters, oysters on the half shell, Cajun shrimp boil and a couple other items. Just in case you're looking for something a little different. You'll also need a reservation. Don't know if this helps you or not.

I think that's a fair and valid point.

I didn't say we live in a tougher society, I agreed that part of society is harder to deal with. That plays completely into what Holtz said, as I view it anyway.
-
There's a difference between respect and abuse. I certainly don't think I was abused. When I felt the need to stand up for myself, I did.
-
We agree on technology, yes. I also agree that society is harder to deal with now. That's part of why I agree with Holtz. I certainly don't see that as the fault of the older generation though.
-
How did we "allow" it to happen? That's a blanket statement, much like saying all young people are soft. I see soft old people and soft young people. I see tough old people and tough young people. Generationally since the beginning of time, society has had things easier overall than earlier generations in my opinion. Some of the other things you mention are because of your generation or younger. That's not on older people, lol.
-
You are the only one in this thread that brought up "softness", so....
-
Some truth to that, but not entirely. Not necessarily "softness" either, definitely different and not all things different are inherently good or bad.
-
Similar, I remember well. There was truth to it then as well.
-
"He/she/they came to play." Well...I would hope so.
-
Yes, he's correct. This is how society as a whole has changed over the last 50 years. Young people won't agree because they weren't around 50 years ago.

Heartbreaking news and such a wonderful person. God bless, Goldie.

Not all. St Thomas in Ft Thomas is not having theirs this year. Probably some others cancelling as well.

There's a LOT I could say about this game, but instead I'll just say congrats to both teams for being in the title game and congrats to Alabama on clearly being the best team in college football! Roll Tide! -
I agree, a game to game comparison, ND matched up better. I know that doesn't mean much, but I'm glad the Irish hung in better against them. Alabama was a beast this season though, no matter how you you look at it.

Okay, but explain to me how ND is deserving of that spot with the performance they had. What do you think Bama will do to them? They just don't look ready to grind it out at this point with any of the 3 other teams in it. If that last Clemson game was at least close, I'd think otherwise. As I said in another post, I hope I'm wrong. -
Prayers for you, Goldie. May God bless you.

After the way they played Saturday, I don't feel they do. Just my opinion. I honestly expected them to lose, hard to beat good team like that twice, especially with Lawrence back. But I did expect them to show up, they didn't. I think Texas A&M deserves it over them.
