  1. WhyOhWhy must it always pour down rain on this weekend?
  2. Tough shooting for the Bethlehem girls — they had similar struggles in their two games at the All A Classic on the open end at McBrayer. If the Banshees could have hit just one or two more shots in the 4thQ they might have pulled out the win. Their defense and rebounding did the job, as they won the turnover battle and the battle on the glass, generating 22 more shot attempts. Regardless, a great season for Bethlehem, the best by far in school history. They should be well-positioned to defend their title in the 5th, but obviously Bardstown and E'town will provide stout challenges.
  3. He's 31 actually, and 5-10 receivers who rely on lateral quickness don't age well. And the Steelers were happy to take whatever they could get, I guess. I would've felt better with one of the Raiders' round 1 picks, but I'm just glad for the nightmare to be over. And now Steelers fans have a new nightmare to deal with: Cleveland being good.
  4. That’s possible, but maybe not. While Bethlehem doesn’t have much of a history of girls’ hoops success, most of the girls on the team also play for their very successful soccer team, so they are not strangers to the big stage. Getting in a couple games at the All A Classic also helps.
  5. Indeed, especially given the three outstanding seniors graduated from last year's squad.
  6. I thought Bethlehem could hang with E’town, but probably lose by 10 points, like Bardstown did. I’m not the only one by a long shot. Given the school’s limited postseason success history, that would’ve been a job well done and let’s see what happens next year with most everyone back. Pats on the back for all involved for making history. Bethlehem did something altogether different by dominating a team that was undefeated in the region, ranked as high as No. 3 in the state. I’m not sure entirely what to make of it because of how surprising it is, but it seems they didn’t want to wait for next year.
  7. After what I saw from Bethlehem last night, I don't know what to expect. Still pretty shocked at how that went down.
  8. Pretty big stunner out of Green Co. tonight. I thought Bethlehem could hang with them, but they did more than that, flat-out taking it to top-5 E'town tonight from the get-go, building a double-digit lead six minutes into the game. The Banshees trailed 3-0 25 seconds in and then never again after a 9-0 run in response. They dominated on the glass against the taller Panthers, 37-18. Bethlehem had 18 offensive rebounds. Bethlehem's Mikiah Livers-Bryant went for 13 points and 17 rebounds (10 offensive) and Ella Thompson had 10 points and 12 rebounds. Amelia Hodges nailed four triples and had a game-high 21 points. Baeli Young added 11 points. Whitney Hay had 17 points to lead E'town, but the Banshees harassed the region POY into an uncharacteristic 3-for-16 shooting night. This is Bethlehem's first trip to state. The school has only ever been to the region finals one other time, and that was in 1976, the second year of girls' basketball's return as a KHSAA varsity sport.
  9. I've been told there was a lot of extra stuff that led up to that incident. Wasn't the first T of the game.
  10. For Taylor to keep it that close without Smith is surprising.
  11. I was told by a mutual friend that OC burned the nets at 90 percent, but he may have been exaggerating. But the Colonels shot pretty good is what I can gather?
  12. Pulled this over from the update thread. I’m trying to recall if I remember hearing about a 5OT HS game. Drawing blanks. Watched a 2OT girls game last night. I would love to see a stat sheet and the scorebook pics.
  13. Games like this usually lead to lots of offbeat kids who never get varsity time coming up with huge results because of attrition. Who came up huge out of nowhere in the extra 20 minutes of a 56-minute game?
  14. He turned it on in a big way down the stretch. Bardstown should be a region contender next year.
  15. John looked really good in what was a road game. They have a lot of ways to beat you.
  16. Mason Sullivan led all scorers with 18 for MC, and Tyshay Epps had 14. JJ Traynor continued his great play of late with 14 points, 16 boards and 8 blocks. JaRel Montgomery and Tereylin Calbert had 10 each.
  17. Tigers shot very poorly in the first half and went into the break down 31-16 and were down 14 in the 4th before staging a huge comeback, cutting it to 1 late. Marion led by 4 when Bardstown scored with just under 10 seconds to play. Tigers got the steal but couldn’t get a shot off late. There was some discussion after the final buzzer among officials as to whether there was a MC foul on the final play before zeroes (lots of contact) but the lead official waved the game final.
  18. Tuned into this one earlier. My first image was a couple of older fellas standing up in front of the camera for freeze-frame. It got much better once I reloaded it lol. Good broadcast, guys!
  19. Also, congratulations to Bardstown coach Boo Brewer for winning his 200th game as a head coach last night. He's averaged 22 wins a season over nine years.
