Lincoln prevails in a true barn burner. Will face Danville for a trip to Rupp!

Games like this usually lead to lots of offbeat kids who never get varsity time coming up with huge results because of attrition. Who came up huge out of nowhere in the extra 20 minutes of a 56-minute game?

 

Pulled this over from the update thread. I’m trying to recall if I remember hearing about a 5OT HS game. Drawing blanks. Watched a 2OT girls game last night.

 

I would love to see a stat sheet and the scorebook pics.

I don’t think anyone fouled out until the fifth OT.

They didn't. No one was really in much foul trouble until the final overtime. I thought the refs swallowed their whistle all night but did a pretty good job overall.

On the line score at the bottom of the sheet I think the 4th and 5th overtime scores are combined. No way was there that much scoring in any of the overtime periods

Wow, sounds like one heckuva game. Great to see Danville and Lincoln represent the 45th at the region level!

The longest I've heard before this was the 4OT 9th Region title game in 2011 between Dixie Heights and Newport Central Catholic.

Nope. A ton of “old school” stall ball by both teams. If I’m not mistaken, neither team scored in the first OT.

I saw a 4OT regional tourney girls b-ball game, but don’t recall a 5OT ever.
