  1. Tea is gross. Sweet, unsweet, green, Earl Grey, whatever. I remember as a kid when I would eat at other folks’ place on occasion, and some of them it would be tea as the only option. No matter how politely I asked, they always looked at me like I had a single eye in the center of my head when I said I preferred water. The worst school lunch ever was, I think, on Wednesdays. Dry sausage patty, dry cornbread, awful soup beans, and this abomination called macaroni and tomatoes. Ugh. I always took my lunch that day.
  2. I see what you mean, to a degree. More often than not I shoot in aperture mode, but that’s in daylight, and that can still play havoc with the readings. Think dark jersey v. white jersey in the same shot. Tends to confuse the heck out of the light metering and I still end up having to do a lot of adjusting in Photoshop to correct. When it’s dark (football games, or inside gyms), it’s always full manual. I learned how to shoot on film, in full manual, so I learned how to quickly adjust my stuff on the fly.
  3. All of this. Don’t be afraid to try different things and fail. It’s how you learn, and it’s definitely not cost-prohibitive like film where you hope you get 1 or 2 good shots in a roll of 12. Don’t let the camera tell you what to do. Don’t ever use program mode or any of the other special mode settings. Manual is always best so you can control your shutter speed and aperture.
  4. From the updates I was getting, Tigers were up most of the 1st half but Scotties got 2 TDS just before half. Neither team scored after halftime. Was told BHS had a KO return TD called back. Heard it was a tough, physical game.
  5. Yes. Sorry about that — touchy subject for residents of Bardstown, especially when people contrast it with the "Most Beautiful Small Town" thing from a few years back.
  6. Incorrect. None of the unsolved murders happened in the city of Bardstown, despite the fact that neither of the documentaries on this go out of their way to make that clear. Ellis was killed on the parkway near Bloomfield. The Netherlands were killed at their home in Botland. Tommy Ballard, Crystal's father, was killed on his farm out in the country south of Bardstown.
  7. Honestly they both pale to Dixie. That, plus Glier’s and Bluegrass brats/metts/cheesy metts are what I miss most from NoKy. And the peach milkshakes and malts from UDF. Loved that place back in the day over at the Newport Shopping Center or whatever it was called. Always good food and always lots of food on the cheap. But it also always seemed like a drug front operation. Our Wendy’s in Bardstown will change your mind. Very fast and always good. There can be a line backed up to the street and you can still be in and through quickly. Mini-Branson. And it’s really pretty Indiana hill country.
  8. I don’t want this to sound like I’m cracking on FHS, because I have a lot of respect for the school and its historic accomplishments, and having been friends with folks tied to the school for 20+years I am familiar with a lot of its struggles as far as losing athletes to transfers. I didn’t count more than 7-8 reserves on the sidelines v. TNHS on Friday. Those guys were warriors out there dealing with that soupy weather and the TNHS front line, which was short on depth after losing two multi-year starters in the preseason, but still bigger and deeper.
  9. I don’t have the sheet nearby, but it seems like it was 15-4 with TN getting 3 of those on their final drive. I think it was either 3 or 4 against FHS on the XP after TN got the go-ahead score.
  10. Dang, already? I'll have something in a bit. I'm just getting off the clock from a 12-hour day.
  11. Key play that came back to haunt Frankfort was when TNHS scored the go-ahead TD midway through the third. FHS went offsides 3 (or was it 4?) times and TNHS was able to walk it in for the deuce. Frankfort immediately answered a few plays later but was stuffed trying for the conversion to tie.
  12. Frankfort’s lack of depth killed them late. TNHS got the ball back up 2 with about 8:00 to play and never gave it back up again. Dale Satterly’s first-down run on 4th and 10 from the FHS 26 sealed it.
  13. Thanks y’all! Had to work today as per usual, but did manage to have breakfast bought for me, and my best buddy cooked dinner for me. Like Ice Cube said, it’s been a good day.
  14. It would only allow me to pre-draft the pick from my laptop (using Chrome). Seems like when I was using the app on my tablet it went through right away. Anyway, my pick is Jarvis Landry.
  15. Wednesday. Stories are in; I've just not had time to read them.
  16. So busy I couldn't even give "time" to the quoted post so it actually made sense. Oy vey.
  17. So I’ve been really busy with work lately and haven’t had to keep up. This one has been an awesome read. Wow.
  18. Really interested to see how this young B’town bunch has developed. If Elijah Rogers is only as much fun as he was last year it will be great. If he’s better, look out.
  19. Surprised Derrick Henry fell to me in the third round. I like my spot at RB.
  20. I've posted my pick to the site, but for some reason it's not reflecting it right away.
