The Franklin-Simpson Wildcats are your 2017 Class 4A State Football Champs!

Franklin-Simpson gets revenge after losing the 4A Title Game to Johnson Central last year.

Tre Bass and Jevon Covington both had big games for the Wildcats.

Congrats Franklin-Simpson! Congrats Coach Preston!

Based on the board's pre-game chatter this should be considered an upset?

Congratulations to Coach Preston, who used to coach at Danville as an assistant many, many years ago. I had him as a teacher and it's good to see him get a state championship as a head coach!

First state title in 37 years for the Wildcats. I did not see that coming...

Wow...just seeing this, WOW!

CONGRATS Franklin-Simpson!

CONGRATS Franklin-Simpson!

Impressive performance by FS. This is the first (and possibly only) surprise of the weekend. Given what these two teams return, I wouldn't be surprised to see FS and JC back on that turf a year from now.

Franklin-Simpson's 39.6 per game average this year is the highest in the history of the program.

That'd be sort of fitting as a rubber match now that the two teams have split a game off of each other.

Very happy for Franklin Simpson, congratulations!

Didn’t catch much but how many times did JC onside it?

Congratulations Wildcats.

FS held JC to 66 yds rushing.

Score was 21-0 before JC scored. 28-7 when they scored again.

FS ran for 191 on 52 attempts.

Passed for 195 on 7 attempts.

FS ran 59 plays to JC 35

Been talking this FS run defense.

I was six years old the last time FS won it all. I didn't care anything about football then. All these years, all those games, all those miles, and finally, FINALLY it happened. Franklin-Simpson Wildcats....STATE CHAMPS BABY!!!!!!

Congratulations Wildcats!

Really happy for you guys!!! GREAT Season! Enjoy this one!
