Ryle will dominate this game. Last year, the defense was killing GRC and the offense performed well on one of the sloppiest fields I have seen. This year, the offense has one of the best quarterbacks around and its a diversified offense with many contributing. I don't like naming scores and I hate the running clock comments because I think it's disrespectful to any team. I see Ryle with a big win.

When Borders has the passes, her sets are on the money. Great hand position, footwork and speed.

Rupple continues to stand out on this team. Her defense and serve receive was very strong last night. Smith is still one of the dominant players in the district. Balls outside the pins for both teams at time. There were numerous ball handling mistakes for both teams - some called and some not. I thought the libero for Ryle and Cooper both looked strong. District play could be very interesting. It will all depend on who shows up. Boone County has one of the strongest setters in the region and they play with a lot of heart.

I have witnessed very poor calls from players and parents this year. In a tight match, this can swing the momentum very quickly. In a questionable situation, the official should at least call a replay. The best situation would be to have paid line judges that have no affiliation to either school. While this does cost more money, it would be fair for all teams involved.

Who all has scored for Ryle?

She cheers for everyone. Don't be haters because she knows more football than most of the people in the stands.

Rankings are a joke. Many of the coaches do not look at the win/loss records.

Just because someone plays year round does not mean that they are always working harder, although I would argue that it does make a player better because you are getting in more practice reps, and game play in a competitive setting. It depends on the type of work that they are putting into the practice. I say this more in terms of not giving credit to some of the teams in the NKY area that may not get due credit for "working hard" because they may not possess the money to play year round ball, or get a late start in volleyball because of the exposure in their school systems. I have witnesses some practices by some of these programs and they have very good coaches that do work their kids hard and hammer skills with fast paced drills working to improve basic serve receive, defense and sharpen skills for offensive systems. That does not mean that they do not work hard. That is difficult to measure, but I think many coaches in the area would be offended as by outsider as people do not see what goes on in their gym. Just because teams have historically not gone to state or do not have winning records, does not mean that those players and coaches are not working hard. If a program spends their time in practice not working on basic fundamentals and developing their offensive systems, and strategy on defense, then yes I do not think they are doing their job. If their 2 hours consists of simply scrimmaging and not working toward improvement, then yes, they are likely not working hard. As far as Beechwood goes, I have not seen them play yet this year, but I have heard from two people not associated with their program that they play with more heart than any team that they have seen this year.

I see Ryle controlling this game. It will be a good hard fought game, but Ryle is getting better each week.

Why is this all about what went wrong at Cooper? How about what Conner did to win the match. Solid passing & Atwood having a spectacular game using all of her hitters. Smith was still bringing the heat & Rupple looks good.

Just because a team does not possess the talent of a Notre Dame or Assumption does not mean that they are not hard working. I have witnessed some of the less talented teams in the area work very hard, but they do not possess D1 talent year after year. That does not mean that the coach or the players of those programs not making it to state do not work hard if not harder. This is not slighting NDA or Assumption either because those players do work hard or they would not be where they are today but much of that also comes from starting to play volleyball in elementary school.

The Cougar's led a very balanced team effort. Serve Receive and strong defense allowed for Conner to run a well distributed offense. All hitters had success at different times throughout the match (Helinski, Jones, Taylor, Watts and Koors). Blocking was huge for the Cougars last night and the defense stepped up against two of the best hitters in the district in Rupple and Smith.

Rupple looked very good tonight. She has good court sense & makes smart plays. From what I saw, she is playing even better than club season & last high school season. Smith is by far one of the top hitters in the region. Gillispie makes spectacular plays on defense.

Scott beat Boone in the finals. Conner beat Oldham to take 3rd.

I must say great start for Brossart & putting all the doubters in their place. It takes time to build a program. Keep working hard boys.

Weather is settling down.

Cov Cath is not that bad. NKY teams need to stop scheduling big Cincinnati schools period. Sycamore being one of the smaller big schools typically graduates 600 a year. Mason & Lakota are up over 800-900 per graduating class. Cov Cath will be fine against teams in their class if they can survive the injuries.

Borders is the most underrated player in the region. She is amazing. For Conner - Helinski & Atwood were stand outs this weekend. Cooper - Giillispie is a dynamic Libero. Smith is dominant. Ryle - Bush & Stinson It's one of the toughest districts. On Wallace - I believe she had some treatments that helped her back which has allowed her to play.

A needed win for both teams. I see Campbell taking this one.

So, if you took two of each of the Boone County High Schools, that would likely make a big difference. Two very strong football schools instead of the talent diluted between 4 schools.

I have been going to high school games in various sports in Northern Kentucky for 39 years. I have observed this behavior by coaches & players and have seen no reaction by officials on multiple occasions, or they might be in such concentration that it goes unnoticed. I have seen two players thrown out of a game in different sports & it was deserved. But more often than not, I have seen no penalty assessed. You will have your view point & I will have mine, that isn't going to change, and since I have seen this before at other games by these two men, I'm not changing my opinion. Since you have observed exemplary behavior you won't change yours. The positive for the team at Cooper is that they are off to a winning start with a big test this week.

There are two coaches on staff that I have personally seen it out of in a few games over the past few years. Not Borchers. And I am not naming them, but I have seen it personally.
