Who wins this one?

 

Is this Conner's only chance to get a meaningful win in 2014? Will Ryle's strong schedule thus far give them the advantage in this game?

 

All the games between Boone County schools are a big deal to the Boone County schools involved.

 

Who wins this one, Raiders or Cougars? Why?

I think it says a lot more about Ryle if Conner wins. This is one of two 'should wins' on their schedule at this point. I can easily see them losing to SK, CC and Dixie in their own district and does anyone think they can beat CCH?

I will take Ryle in this one.

This is such an odd game to handicap. Both teams have the personnel to put some points on the board, but also have shown they can have trouble just doing that.

 

I will say whoever scores first wins.

 

Could be a 3-0 score or a 28-24 score. Very tough one because both teams have me a bit puzzled.

I think we need to resurrect the old thread about 4 schools in one county diluting the athlete pool for football. The football being played at all 4 schools is just really bad (Sorry HB) . IMO, dilution is the the issue. Even Ryle will score on Connor's defense. 28-17 Ryle.

I agree and have said the same thing from day 1.

 

I will say however Cooper up to now is playng some pretty good ball, but 1 out of 4 isn't anything to get excited about.

 

I said way back when they should have either expanded Ryle Instead of building Cooper or should have built one big school to take the place of Ryle and Conner. Sort of like what Harlan County did.

 

4 public, closed enrollment schools in one county the size of Boone is just too tough to win consistently at any sport. Look at basketball, they all beat each other up every year.

But I thought Ryle had all the athletes they needed in this "super class"? What good would a kid or two from Cooper do for them??

 

There's no way "one big school" would work for Boone Co. From Rabbit Hash to Florence, twice a day? Graduating classes of over 1000 kids? There is more to take into account than athletics.

How does Scott County do it? One school in Burlington and one school in Union would cover the whole county.

With significantly less than 1/2 the population.....I have no idea how many square miles you're talking in either case but Boone Co. is the 3rd largest school district in the state. Should Louisville and Lexington downsize while we're at it???

What are the enrollments of the 4 Boone County Schools? Last I heard Ryle was the 1st or 2nd largest school in NKY. If this is the case there should be plenty of kids in those schools to compete.

Ryle and Boone have been stuck in a primitive Owen Hauck offense for 15 years. With both programs implementing new systems, it will be interesting to where they are in 2 - 3 more years. Cooper has the one title game run but has dropped off significantly after that. Connor is a total disaster right now. Anyone have an alternative hypothesis on why all 4 schools continue to struggle?

This amuses me to no end. Dropped off significantly after that? The title run was TWO YEARS AGO!!! Last season, we lost 5 games by one score, 3 in the 4th quarter with a new QB playing all four 6A teams in our area.

Not even sure how you can say this,, Cooper has been playing some good football. It is interesting to hear people say the opposing team is bad when Cooper wins a game,,, smh
