How does Scott County do it? One school in Burlington and one school in Union would cover the whole county.

Scott County only has 2400 students, all of Boone County would be over 4,000

So, if you took two of each of the Boone County High Schools, that would likely make a big difference. Two very strong football schools instead of the talent diluted between 4 schools.

Ryle and Boone have been stuck in a primitive Owen Hauck offense for 15 years. With both programs implementing new systems, it will be interesting to where they are in 2 - 3 more years. Cooper has the one title game run but has dropped off significantly after that. Connor is a total disaster right now. Anyone have an alternative hypothesis on why all 4 schools continue to struggle?

I would have to disagree with the bolded. So you believe any team that makes it to the state title game and doesn't repeat the very next year has "dropped off significantly?". How is that possible?

They have had 1 season since the title game and now they are currently undefeated. How exactly is that a significant drop off?

 

Now if they would have went the next 3 seasons only winning 1 or 2 games a year then that would be a significant drop off. Not just 1 season removed from a title game.

 

Now I'm not saying they will win regionals this year, but being undefeated and only allowing 9 points scored all season so far isn't exactly a drop off.

There were only 2 games Cooper Was down by more than 1 score last year going into the 4th qtr during the regular season and those were also the only games that they didn't have a chance to win or already had the lead with just a. Minute or two left in the game. Guess what? Those two teams were both 6A schools and the 2 best 6A schools in NKY last year. Those 2 teams were Dixie and SK.

 

So when you make a point, try and use some logic or it will simply be dismissed as someone that is just making things up and hold no real credibility.

So one scrimmage is what you base the entire season off of? If I Remeber correctly Cov Cath didn't do anything against Moeller, does that mean CCH is horrible?

 

Did you happen to see Cooper and Dixie's 7 on 7? I did, I believe Dixie only won by 1 score. So if you base it off of scrimmages I guess we can include 7on 7's also.

 

If you call them a significant drop off since their title game, then what do you call SK's huge collapse since their title game? They haven't sniffed it since their last trip to the title game. Cooper has only been 1 complete season since their last title game.

 

Do hope you understand that teams, especially good teams, do improve after scrimmages throughout the season? Especially teams with entire new offense than in the past with brand new starters across the board. Since that scrimmage they have put up over 70 pts and only allowed 9 pts in 3 games. That is quite an improvement especially seeing how one of,those wins was against a team that dismantled them in 7 on 7's and that was Boone Co. Again, improvement.

And that constitutes 'falling off significantly'??? Wow. Borchers needs to take these scrimmages MUCH mire seriously instead of trying to decide on a QB for the season, finalize his O line or give that senior who won't play this year one last shot. Somebody better tell him these scrimmages, not his record during the season, matter.

I feel bad that this thread turned into a debate about a team that is t even what this thread is about, then I realized it was SK fans that hijacked it which makes perfect sense when you think about it.

 

Can we get back to Conner and Ryle?

Ryle REALLY needs a win here, way more than Conner does. I think Conner's fate is sealed for this season. They have "fallen off significantly" without Barker. Ryle has been hyping this group of kids, praising their new coach...their fans are all in and historically cranky when they don't win.

 

I haven't followed them at all....who is at QB? Is England back to full speed/strength?
