It was a good win.

Exactly. This does nothing more than make NewCath look that much more impressive.

All wins are good wins.

Did Henschen throw two picks in the endzone tonight?

Boone in that club?

Did Henschen throw two picks in the endzone tonight?

Yes but that looks worse than what it was. First one was on 2nd and 31 so it was like a punt. Other one was 4th and goal from the 5 with 2 minutes left. More later.

Absolutely!

The turnover bug hurt the Breds in this one, as they had a couple opportunities to score. Two INT's in the endzone, including one with 2:25 remaining on a 4th and goal from the 7.

Jake Smith with a very good night, 27 carries for 156 yards and a score. He also had close to 100 return yards, including a 55 yd punt return.

However, John "hair-ball" Harris was a "machine", 8 carries for 112 yards and a score. On the Breds last scoring drive he accounted for 65 of the 70 yards on 4 carries. :ylsuper:

Congrats to NewCath kicker Ryan Hans.....with :06 remaining in the 2nd quarter he connects for a 45 yard field goal, which is a new NewCath carrer long, breaking the old record of 43 yards set by Curt Graham vs. Holy Cross in 2003. :dancingpa

Very impressed with Padgett, Ebarb, & Manning from Conner.

Okay lets start with giving Conner credit for being a smart team with a QB that does not let them get beat. Throws a nice ball and gets 3 yards when he needs 3 yards. Very poised. Sometimes you do not have to win a game if the other team is going to hand it to you. You just need to manage the game and make plays when necessary or not do something to put your team in trouble.

Conner Defense bent a lot but did not get beat on the final drive when NCC could have won the game. No penalties that I can remember.

For NCC.......could not have played a worse first half on offense, on defense and on brains. Three offsides in the first quarter when Conner was in long distance downs. Add in a personal foul or two. Only bright spot for NCC was 45 yard FG with 6 seconds left in half.

Second half NCC pretty much dominated but once again killed themselves with stupid penalties. 60 yard punt return was followed by a sack and then personal foul for pulling guys off the pile. 2nd and 31 and an INT in the endzone. Just awful.

After NCC scored on several long runs by other RB and then stopped Conner they had every chance to win the game. Drove right to 10 yard line but threw an INT and 4th and goal from the 5.

If Conner plays smart like tonight they can hang around in some 6A games but not against the better 6A teams.

If NCC ever plays a non-penalty game and actually play 4 quarters they could be a decent 2A playoff team.

Eh... depends on the 2A team. Thinking of DeSales and Mayfield specifically.

Real 6A contenders will wipe out both of those 2A teams too.

NCC has everything they need to make a deep 2A run.

@doubledeuce said in another thread that he thought Jacob Smith was the best back in NKY. Tonight was the first chance I had to watch and that argument can be made. He had a few runs that made me think of Melvin Miles in 1983. Powell is a stud. TCA from Cooper is legit. Others as well but Smith is the most complete and is the most college-ready.
