Manual pretty easy IMO Crimsons 35, Panthers 14

A lot of his lack of big games is that he's been injured so much this season. Was out most of the game last week at Ballard for injury also. Let's hope he's healthy.

Congrats X! Butler used to be a solid program. They have fallen fast. The Bears have scored just 22 points since the opening-week win over Western (20-12). And this is a Butler team with 17 seniors - which is not a terrible number. I believe they only have about 12 or 13 sophomores in the whole program also. Not looking good for the future.

Had a feeling this wouldn't be close but seems like turnovers made it even larger of a margin. Just don't think Manual has the linemen on either side of the ball to compete with Male or X.

Will post more later. I need a drink (or two) now. Was really a terrible football game to watch. Trinity had seven holding penalties called on the offense. I counted 145 yards of positive yardage that was erased by penalties. Will take the win! Hope the young man from Ballard who was taken off in an ambulance is OK. Looked like he got caught up on the edge of a pile and hit by his own guy.

Dang, didn't realize Jadairion Smith has 15 tackles for a loss and 12.5 sacks on the season. That's super impressive in six games. Trinity will win but I think it's closer than many expect. Rocks 31-20

I agree. And I admit I know nothing about this game and how it played out. Have just always said to score more than 80 in a high school football game you have to be trying to get that many points. Just my opinion.

Wow! A little stunned. I'll admit I have not see the baby Rocks play yet but have not heard good things. And all I have heard from the St. X folks at church is how this was the best freshman team in a long, long time on Poplar Level Road. Seems like all my intel was wrong. Only thing I know is the Trinity QB is the son of former Rock standout Craig Desensi. He was the QB that took over when Jeff Brohm graduated and Craig was a really, really good QB.

No reason to push the panic button just yet. St. Rita was big and very well coached. I was super impressed with what I saw from them; when I watched warm-ups I was afraid it was going to be 35-7 or something like that. Muffed punt snap for a TD for Rita and a TD called back for T. Lots of sophomores getting a lot of reps. The Rocks are #3 in 6-A right now and I don't think anyone will move above them; will have a shot in the end if they don't get too banged up. LaSalle next - yikes!

I think you are spot on Guru The gap is not as large as it was last year with Trinity and the rest of the field - but not too far off that. My top 10 1. Male 2. Male second unit 3. X 4. Trinity 5. Ballard 6. Manual 7. Dixie Heights 8. Henderson County 9. Bryan Station 10. Daviess County

Wow! Coach Jones is really, really good. KCD has come so far. Excited for those guys. What a weekend - the KCD soccer team beat St. X last night for the first time in 40 years.

Ugh, hope Micah Carter is OK But saw the clip and like TP said didn't look good. Hate it for that kid.

Looks like a good game. I expect Manual to be a tough team in 6-A; just not sure they can score enough to beat a Male, X or T

It was nice to see the place jam-packed! There were people everywhere.

And remember the name Brady McEnanny Wow! Pick six and was in on a ton of plays. Just a sophomore. Looks about 6-2 and 180 or so defensive end.

Lots and lots of things to improve on for sure. But also a lot of positives. One time in the second half, there were seven sophomores on defense. Heck, they had five turnovers (pick six and QB fumble that gave Carmel a short field and fumble on opening kickoff of second half) that helped Carmel get 21 points. Don't get me wrong Carmel is very good and QB was so solid and so smart! He's committed to Colgate but losing by 11 to them with 5 turnovers is not all that bad. Yes, tough each week. But these young kids will grow up. Too bad they have a really good QB and maybe best defensive player out for what sounds like the long haul.

Not sure there will be a ton of points. In fact, I would be surprised if there's a lot. I'll say X 17, Owensboro 10

Oh, you just made me hungry! Big Dipper is a great local spot; love it there.

This one will be Male by a whole lot. Have a friend whose kid played at Floyd Central last year and I saw them one time. They were decent last year but the better players were seniors, including the kid that went to Ohio State. Male won't have any trouble.

Going to be tough for Trinity early on. They are young and have some injuries on offense. The defense is going to be a lot better than most expect. Some of those sophomores are really, really good players. My guess is they'll start five or six sophomores on defense. Trinity 17, Carmel 14

Just my early thoughts. Male is loaded and will be tough to beat for sure. I think because of Mekhi Smith on offense and those young guys on defense that St. X will be right there. But the offense just doesn't have enough firepower for Male IMO. I like you Guru will not count Trinity out but they have to overcome losing a lot. It's miles to anyone else - and that includes Manual.

Always love watching a few games in June. I know Male plays at New Albany tomorrow night and back over there on Thursday night. Plus, I know Collins High School is having a big event at the end of the month. Anybody else know of any games in the Louisville area let me know? By the way, Male vs. New Albany on June 1 is pretty good start to the month.
