A important district matchup that is flying under the radar. PRP has improved and thinks they can compete with Manual. QB Kayden Anderson who was a sophomore last year is back. They have two big receivers with Jakob Dixon and Elijah Reed who has D1 offers including Kentucky. They have their best O-line in the last few years. They had a 7-0 loss to Bowling Green and a 45-30 loss to Lexington Catholic earlier in the season.

#4 Manual is coming off a 6 turnover performance in a 42-10 loss to #2 St. Xavier. With the forecast of rain, I'm sure Manual will Look to get back on track by feeding Mr. Football candidate RB JuWaun Northington.

Can a improved PRP get the upset at home against the Crimsons?

This is a hidden gem of a game.  The rain really turns this to Manuals favor IMO. I look for Northington to have a big game.  But PRP is a better team than most on here give them credit for.  They have some very good players and Manuals secondary will have to be sharp to not give up big plays.  But if they can do that, I really like the Crimsons:

Manual 28

PRP 14

I need to make a correction. Elijah Reed played WR last year and has moved to CB and his college offers are for CB position. He had no offers last year but took advantage of reclassification law and now has offers.

I'm going with the PRP Panthers. Manual lets St. X beat them twice. PRP 17 Manual 14.

Did the tall WR for PRP start his high school career at St. X or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes. Jakob Dixon transferred sophomore year. I wish he was still at St. X. He's 6' 4" and big target. Also good high jumper, long jumper, and triple jumper for track team.

First, I am really sad that tonight is PRP's homecoming due to the weather.  Those kids only get so many of those kinds of nights and they are special and it sure helps when the weather cooperates.  Whenever it rains on homecoming, I think back to my Sophomore year in High School when it was a monsoon and we played "lowly" Warren East coached by a wound up character named Kevin Wallace, who complained to the refs at halftime every game (laughing).  Eric Hughes scored the only TD of the game for East in the whole game and to this day is the only game BG has lost to Warren East!  I won't tell you how my date went!  Laughing!  Onward!

I know these teams must have played each other alot over the years so I decided to look up on the KHSAA page and see just how many times they have played since 1998.  Turns out Manual leads this series 16-6, as follows:

2019 - Reg Season - M 48-6     Post Season - M42-22

2018 - M 17-14

2017 - PRP 14-7 (PRP beat BG this year and lost to X in the playoffs 16-7)

2016 - M 34-28

2015 - M 24-21 (OT)

2014 - M 43-0

2013 - M 28-7

2012 - PRP 48-34 (an undefeated PRP team would go on to the State Finals and fall 61-7 to Trinity)

2011 - M 27-14

2010 - PRP 29-28

2009 - M 35-0

2008 - M 23-15

2007 - M 34-6

2006 - M 21-14

2005 - M 42-28

2004 - M 42-0

2003 - PRP 13-12

2001 - PRP 22-19 (Round 1 of the Playoffs)

2000 - M 21-14

1999 - PRP 27-7

All this shows me is I feel pretty good about my pick for the night!  In the last 10 years, the only PRP teams to beat Manual were pretty special teams.  I just don't think this Panther team is in that category.

But hope it's a good game!  Go Crimsons!
