Are the other district teams still refusing to play Trinity's JV and frosh? I just don't get it.

That's why I don't care for our playoffs. Too unbalanced, IMO. I agree that they will fall to St. X and Male this year. They'll play hard, but those two teams will be too much for anyone except Trinity... as usual. I think PRP does have a better chance than most, though. And even if Manual keeps improving with each game, I still see PRP being the favorite when they play.

Louisville representation is kind of strange on here. For instance, for Male you only have H, and maybe an occasional post by Purpleandgold04 (if he's even still on here). And with PRP being the most populous school in Louisville, you'd think they'd have a lot more.

I don't know about biggest win, as far as most points scored against in opponent. But my personal favorite win is a no brainer. 2001, Coach Nichols first season as head coach, taking over after a fairly large graduating class with some D-1 talent bounces. We go to Manual stadium one friday night in late October, facing a Male team featuring the talents of a Mr. Bush, Mr. Spencer, Mr. Blackerby, and Mr. Barclay, among others. Our hearts are pounding until that last second, and our fans pour- nay - they SHOOT over the fence. The field is crowded before I get the chance to shake the hand of the nearest Male player. That night was unforgettable, and one of the greatest things I'll ever experience. It might sound weird to some, but I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean. Most unexpected win is probably when Manual beat Trinity in 03, at the last second. And probably biggest win in the way that 'we shouldn't have had that big of a margin against that team' is either... Ballard in the deluge of 01 ("YOU CAN'T HOLD ME; I'M BRINGIN' THUNDER!"), or North Hardin in the first round of the playoffs in 02. Both were something like 40+ to 10+, I don't remember exactly.

Another huge test awaits Manual this week. Brentwood gave them there first taste of what it'll be like to play a bigger and badder team, but Eastern gave them confidence. Is there the slightest chance Manual can make the big upset like they did in '03? I say the chance is there, but it's still a small one. Trinity, much like UofL against UK (and I do hate to compare college and high school teams), simply has more experience, players, known talent, and basically more to lose than Manual. My heart: Manual 36-30 My head: Trinity 36-14 As long as Manual is able to get the experience they need to get better for the following week, and don't have any injuries, I'll be happy... but I'll be happier still with the win.

I have a feeling if this was a lot of luck on MBA's part. I don't think Petrino will ever throw 3 picks in one game again. I look for Trinity to be very sharp, and ready to play all four quarters on Friday. And I don't like it one bit.:irked:

Slightly, yes... but Trinity remembers the last time they came in expecting to name the score, and I don't see them letting up for a second. Being Trinity's first in state opponent, and a home game, I see them playing very well. I'd be more than happy to see a Manual shocker, but I think Trinity will be lighting up. I'll probably be repeating myself in the Manual vs. Trinity thread, so I'll save any other comments.

I was expecting a much closer game between Manual and Eastern. But I'm pleased with having been wrong in this case.

I think most people would switch Trinity and X, considering both last years championship game, and the reloading of St. X.

Now THAT is some quality improvement. Or a very easily crushed spirit on Eastern's part.

Manual had a TD called back earlier. They evidently have 6 penalties for 59 yards. They're young, but best to stop that excuse as soon as possible. Those mistakes cost games.

Manual up 7-0, with about a minute left in the half according to my source.

Good analysis, Tigerdude. I can only hope to have updates on the Manual-Eastern game for the first hour. What would you say about Butler? Meade had a pretty good game against them, from what I heard. Is Butler still able to make any noise, though?

I think this is a situation in which the students really need to get involved. They're the ones who are being affected, why can't they have some say? And to keep this on the topic of the thread, game will be held at 7:30 at Eastern, correct?

That would be one HECK of an adrenelin rush.

Actually, it was also about how we should buy American, but I think that got blindsided in my first post about the game.

Eastern comes off of a not-so-big win over Doss, while Manual comes off an old fashion whipping from Brentwood. In no way is Eastern very comparable to Brentwood Academy, but they are supposedly improved from last year. This will be a good measuring stick for Manual, in my opinion. Although given the past history of these teams, anything could happen. I'll say: Manual- 30 Eastern- 28

My biggest worry is that since Male is in another district, will Bobby Redman try to dispose of Ye Olde Rivalry?

Yeah, I'm sure it's just based off of last years performance. I'd love to see them step up to be a top 10 team, though. That'd be pretty sweet.

Saint X and Trinity undoubtadly have a vast army of skilled and experienced frosh that will decimate their opponents.

I doubt it'll be that much of a slaughter, but I'd definitely pick Trinity to win this one.
