As reported on the KHSAA website. Eagles take it on the chin at home from the young Crimsons. :ylsuper:

Does this make next week's game with the Shamrocks slightly more interesting?

Can somebody PLEASE tell the staff (head coach) at Eastern that the kid holding for PATs and FGs played in that spot for the first time tonight. (Notice the botched PAT after the 2nd Ram score). He could not get the last PAT snap on the block so he called "fire" and tried to pass for the 2 pt conversion. This evidently led to some ill feelings toward the Manual staff after the game. The player in question has said he could not get the ball on the block so he pulled it and tried to pass it in. At that point in the game, there was NO NEED to go for two or even try to work on the botched snap, just a decision made "spur of the moment" by a high school player.

In regards to the game and Eastern, a very good, athletic team that will only continue to get better as this year evolves. The score was 13-7 Manual until 8:03 left in the 4th quarter so by no means was this a "blowout". Manual is still showing signs of being a young team, two holding penalties brought back touchdowns in the first half and some other "untimely" mistakes kept holding the offense back.

Good win for the Crimsons! In the Brentwood game they were just bigger strong and faster, if Manual plays a team on the same level there will be some success. There are a lot good signs even in that loss the week before that Manual is rebuilding into a fine squad. The more experience this team gets the better they will play.

Manual suprised me last night. They look fluid and quick. They stopped the run and the defensive backs made some good plays. Height matchups at the corners may be an issue in some games. The O line did a good job of getting out on the run, the backs found the holes, and the QB could throw a long ball without getting a lot of air under it. I think they will be fun to watch this year. :thumb:

Does this make next week's game with the Shamrocks slightly more interesting?

Slightly, yes... but Trinity remembers the last time they came in expecting to name the score, and I don't see them letting up for a second. Being Trinity's first in state opponent, and a home game, I see them playing very well. I'd be more than happy to see a Manual shocker, but I think Trinity will be lighting up. I'll probably be repeating myself in the Manual vs. Trinity thread, so I'll save any other comments.
