I've never been to an X vs. T game, and I ALWAYS hear about what I'm missing out on. It isn't a game so much as it is an EVENT in Louisville. I can tell you that even at the Male-Manual game you get people from out of state, whether alumni or family or just looking to see some historical teams play football. I imagine it's like that with X and T, but a much bigger scale.

I guess it goes without saying, but how about Trinity's best win ever over Male in '02? That Male team is easily right up there with Last years St. X team... no, I'd say they're above.

Was it the Championship game against Trinity? I remember looking at one of the seasons where Manual pretty much dominated every team until the championship game against Trinity. Manual had a lot of teams shut out that year. And so did Trinity. And (this is praise, be grateful) compared to the other teams Trinity played, Manual was hardly blown out.:lol:

I know it's probably hard to believe that this is a non-bias comment, but really I've always loved the ram horns.

I would rather put a drill my eardrums than listen to that (or most any Kid Rock)... the song right afterwards however, is a CLASSIC pregame song. I was just afraid to list it myself.:lol:

All I heard - this from one of the guys filming who somehow couldn't keep track - was that Coach Nichols seemed dissappointed afterwards, so it may have been a Manual loss (like it really matters for a scrimmage). And he said Manual had a decent passing game... I'm not at all sure who the QB is. Though a lot can happen since spring practice (I used to glance at them as I was walking to my car from UofL), last I saw Manual lacked in size on the lines. Don't know about Ballard.

It's what they play before every Male game that I've been to. "A-tom-ic Dooooooog!"

*whistles* Wowzers... I hope Tennessee is having a really, really, really down year. Really.

Indeed. I believe speed will be Manual's strength again this year. I really don't know what to expect, being they've got to reload on just about every position. But anything can happen in the offseason. I'm ready for anything from a 2-9 to a playoff-bound season. I'm just hoping the whole under-the-radar approach will give Manual an advantage.

August 19th, Manual plays Brentwood at 5:30pm. Male plays at 8pm.

While you could be right, I think Male typically doesn't want to show much off at the begining of the season. Of course, neither does X, so again, you could be right.

Male plays New Albany (Male wins easy). Although Manual will be playing Brentwood AT Male, since it's the Old Rivalry Bowl, and we'll be switching from Maxwell to Manual stadium every other year.

Male against St. X is often a great game. And like jimmyref mentioned about with how many starters Male has coming back vs. how many X has, one would actually assume Male will win this year. I hadn't realized earlier just how many people Male had coming back. I'm understanding the hype. This is no knock to X however. They've had some excellent JV and Frosh teams lately, and should reload nicely.

Why would he say that? He had an amazing season with a TOUGH team, and lost to a better prepared team in the state championship game... yeah, sure a lot of people would've loved a rematch, but fact is that WAS the rematch, and it shouldn't take away from what he had last season. Is this some hardcore arrogance, a slip of the brain, or what?

Travel issues maybe?

Plus doesn't he do a bunch of work with the Louisville Fire? Good choice.

That doesn't look too bad, though it'd be very upsetting if Bobby Redman decided to end The Old Rivalry (which I hear he has no problems doing) since that'd put Manual and Male in seperate districts.
