MAD DOG Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I have 1 or 2 but I what about your Teams.:dancingpa
TheDeuce Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 My senior year (2003), we (Frankfort) beat Pike Co. Central 54-8, and Ft. Knox 56-0 in the first round of the playoffs
REDDEVILMVP'06 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Three , just last year for the Devils ... in no order 1) Newport .... team win all phases .. sum was better than parts... just barely .. 2) Belfry .... Red Army had advantage going in - been there , done that , and had physically dominated the Devils in 2004 . This door had to be kicked in ... again just barely held off the pirates ... champs didn't die easy. This game could be a table setter for many seasons to come for the Devils .. 3) OC .... almost a let down , but how can state championship not be in this mix .. OC either was overated , or just didn't show up ... But on the other had Devil coaches were as ready as any Devil team in any situation .. Coaching and preparation likely won this game ... Devils have had other big games and wins over the years but last years group of Devils did it with very little if any margin ... Now that's a Team ... It took everything every person had , kids , coaches , staff ...
PepRock01 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I have 1 or 2 but I what about your Teams.:dancingpa There are a couple in my mind for the Rocks that really stand out. 2002 Trinity-Elder: A game where the Shamrocks blasted the eventual Ohio D1champ 44-20 2002 Trinity-Male: 59-56 heart-in-your throat game that stil gives me chills thinking about it. 2005- Trinity-x Part 2: The Shamrocks avenge an earlier 48-16 spanking in a defensive struggle to prevail 14-6. Probably my top 3, in no particular order. :thumb:
Charger1 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 In 2001, Bullitt East beat Bullitt Central 86-0, it was 64-0 at halftime. BC had 9 turnovers that game. BE cleared the bench, but it didn't matter.
cch5432 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 The Mud Bowl. If an older CCH fan could fill in the year, details, ect.., but I'm sure a lot of you know the story.
EJHS Fan #98 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 My sophomore year we went into Bell Co.'s back yard and beat them 13-7.
Lucky Charms Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 The Mud Bowl. If an older CCH fan could fill in the year, details, ect.., but I'm sure a lot of you know the story. I beleive it was 1996 when CovCath defeated Highlands in 2 overtimes. This was a very good game. I thought it was classic when Highlands swithed jerseys and came out all cleaned up in the second half while the CovCath boys were all dirtied up. The next year was when Highlands installed the turf. Best high school football game I ever seen.
ram2003 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I don't know about biggest win, as far as most points scored against in opponent. But my personal favorite win is a no brainer. 2001, Coach Nichols first season as head coach, taking over after a fairly large graduating class with some D-1 talent bounces. We go to Manual stadium one friday night in late October, facing a Male team featuring the talents of a Mr. Bush, Mr. Spencer, Mr. Blackerby, and Mr. Barclay, among others. Our hearts are pounding until that last second, and our fans pour- nay - they SHOOT over the fence. The field is crowded before I get the chance to shake the hand of the nearest Male player. That night was unforgettable, and one of the greatest things I'll ever experience. It might sound weird to some, but I'm sure a lot of you know what I mean. Most unexpected win is probably when Manual beat Trinity in 03, at the last second. And probably biggest win in the way that 'we shouldn't have had that big of a margin against that team' is either... Ballard in the deluge of 01 ("YOU CAN'T HOLD ME; I'M BRINGIN' THUNDER!"), or North Hardin in the first round of the playoffs in 02. Both were something like 40+ to 10+, I don't remember exactly.
stick1 Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Lawrence Co's was breaking Breahitt's 42 game win streak and beating Russell at Russell in the playoffs in double OT without our starting QB. They had beaten us at home by about 40 that year.
southeast_bell Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 1998 State Championship win over Mayfield.
xyience Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Johnson Centrals biggest win came against Boyd County in the 2000 season when JC went 11-1. JC scored a td with only seconds to go in the 4th, making the score 14-12. Giving Johnson Central there first ever district championship.

free thinker Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I beleive it was 1996 when CovCath defeated Highlands in 2 overtimes. This was a very good game. I thought it was classic when Highlands swithed jerseys and came out all cleaned up in the second half while the CovCath boys were all dirtied up. The next year was when Highlands installed the turf. Best high school football game I ever seen. Your wrong on several facts. 1) The mud bowl was in 1997. Highlands won the state title in 1996 and then again from 1998-2000. Four titles in 5 years and 1997 was in my opinion the best of all those teams. 2) Could be wrong, but I don't believe Highlands changed jerseys at the half. Just another myth. 3) The turf was not installed until several years later. I believe it was 2001 or 2002 when the turf was installed. The grass was replaced with a different type of grass for 1998 but it definitely wasn't turf.
Guest Bluto Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 For LCA it has to be last year's (2005) convincing win over Beechwood 43-20. After getting hammered by them the previous year 62-14, it was the sweetest-tasting win in LCA's 5-year-old varsity program. The next best had occured only 2 weeks earlier by beating Fairview (whom we had never beaten) for our first-ever District Championship.
