I'm thinking about going to this game this Friday because 1) it will give me a look at how good PRP is and 2) unlike the Manual/Trinity game, there are sure to be a pair of empty seats available (an important consideration when you're taking a 3 1/2 year old).

What does everyone think of this game? Will Dunbar be able to play with PRP or will they get pounded?

Given the injury situation at Paul Dunbar, I think PRP wins this home game with ease, 34-14. The Panthers are for real this year, and will give the Dawgs and the Tigers all they can handle in the district race.

Considering how good this PRP team can be this season, I'm astounded that they seem to have no representation on Bluegrass Preps. Aren't there any Panther fans out there who want to discuss their team's outlook for 2006?

Other than the Big 4, the Louisville schools don't have much representation here. It's a shame, because there are other good teams in Louisville. PRP is certainly one of them.

I was thinking Dunbar might be in over their heads, too. Just wanted a second opinion. I would like to go to Manual/Trinity, but don't want to fight the crowd with a pre-schooler. Maybe I'll go to Male/Seneca after all (at least I'll get a good chance to evaluate Male's subs). I can listen to the Rams/Rocks on the radio.

One game I noticed on the schedule that looks intriguing is PRP vs Central on Sept 22 (that date is familiar for some reason--I wonder what else happens on the 22nd? ;) ). I like Central's program and their team (they are soooo much better than they were 15-20 years ago) and of course many feel PRP is a top 5 4A program.

I wouldn't just write off Dunbar. They still have a very good coaching staff and they will find a way to make this a game. In both of thier losses, the score doesn't really indicate how the game went.

Against MBA, Dunbar is down 14-7 in the 4th quarter and fumbles a punt return. Special teams hurt the Bulldogs in this one, MBA also returned a punt.

Against Madison Central, Dunbar is down 14-7 when MC busts open an 80 yard run on 3rd and 2. 3 fumbles killed Dunbar in this game. They moved the ball downfield well but coughed it up a bunch.

Dunbar should be well prepared for playing PRP. They have played solid against two teams (MBA and Madison Central) that have vastly different styles of play. I doubt that PRP's lineman are as good as MBA's and that PRP's skill players are as good as MC's. I am not trying to knock PRP at all, I just think that they are going to have a much tougher game then many think.

As I have said a few times, Dunbar has to punctuate drives with TD's. They fumble twice inside the MC 5 yard line and one of them is picked up and ran back 97 yards for a TD. If the Dawgs don't turn the ball over, it will be a barnburner. If they do, could be a long night. Dunbar's D didn't play as well last Friday, either. However, MC's skill people had something to do with that, also. PRP has some oustanding talent. Hopefully, Dawgs get first win.

Since when has it been the Big 4?

How about Big 3 and Medium 1.:D Just to clarify, I'm referring to X, Trinity, Male, and Manual. We've got a PRP guy now, but where are fans of the other good programs? I would think Ballard, Central, Waggener, etc. would have some fans, but I really don't recall seeing them on here.

We have had a few Ballard fans post in the past, but they may have been tarred, feathered, and run out of town by the landfill gang. In regards to Central, Waggener, etc., there is never anyone. This totally astounds me considering how popular sports internet boards are nowadays.

I'm glad that Gus McRae came out of the closet and announced for PRP. I, for one, would love to hear more about their team on a consistent basis. Are there any more PRP people out there in Cyberland?

Louisville representation is kind of strange on here. For instance, for Male you only have H, and maybe an occasional post by Purpleandgold04 (if he's even still on here). And with PRP being the most populous school in Louisville, you'd think they'd have a lot more.

People always say that PRP is good, and they are but it seems every year they do not do well in the playoffs. I think they will fall again to Male and X.

That being said the running game seems to be stacked this year so maybe this is the year they shock Male and X. But I don't think so.
