  1. Does Powell Co. run a balanced offense or does it lean more one way?
  2. I would have thought that Casey's biggest weakness would have been their pass defense, which seemed suspect the one time I saw them play. They scored a lot of points, so did they rack up a lot of yardage on the ground?
  3. Powell County. Seems as though everyone assumed Casey Co. was going to win and that the Hounds would be playing at home next week.
  4. The score is 26-6 Redhounds
  5. Didn't that appear to be an obvious pass interference when Bell Co. intercepted the Corbin pass?
  6. I'll play along. Where did these two play at previously?
  7. Rockcastle will need to have developed a passing game along with better pass defense. Knox Central stacked the box against Rockcastle and dared them to throw, which proved to be a winning formula for Knox, and Wayne is obviously better than the Panthers.
  8. I can think of 3-4 Corbin defensive players that may be underrated, although maybe not with the Redhound coaches and fans. 1. Mathew Masternak - DT 2. Aaron Money - LB/DE 3. Ethan Simms - DB/LB/Punt blocker 4. Caleb Mitchell - S, punter
  9. North Laurel has a really good running game, which Lincoln won't be able to stop. Lincoln may hang around for a while, but North is just too physical and will put it away comfortably.
  10. Knox Central has a good, but young team, one of their fans told me this week that they only start 3 seniors. Their freshman QB, who took over due to an injury to the starter 3-4 weeks ago, was really impressive against Corbin last week. He completed 22-32 for 382 yards with 1 TD and zero interceptions, despite being sacked 8 times and under pressure all night. Unless they turn the ball over a lot, I like Knox Central to win by a couple of TD's.
  11. Lynn Camp Whitley Co. Williamsburg Knox Central Ohio teams Miamisburg Vikings Valley View Spartans
  12. Corbin played well in most areas, but Knox exposed some things that need to be addressed. I thought the refs threw too many flags as well, 3 hours is much too long for a high school game. That being said, Corbin needs to cut down on their penalties without losing their aggressiveness or it may really hurt them in a game down the line.
  13. I was very impressed with Knox Central's young QB. He was under tremendous pressure all night and he continually made play after play. He is going to be a special player if they shore up their pass protection going forward.
  14. Corbin gets a 8 yd TD run from Estep to take a 36-14 lead with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
  15. Corbin up 29-14 at the half, which took 1:30 to play. Knox Central gets the ball to start the second half.
  16. Corbin up 29-14 with 3 minutes left in the half. Another flag fest tonight, Corbin with more than 10 penalties and Knox with several as well.
  17. 22-0 Corbin with 11 minutes left in the half.
  18. Corbin up 14-0 at the end of 1Q.
  19. Williamsburg should win this one comfortably, something like 42-21. It's a shame how far Middlesboro has fallen since going 9-3 in 2013 and then firing their coach. They lost 19-13 to Somerset in the playoffs, then Somerset went on to finish as state runner-up to New Cath by a score of 49-48 in 2 OT's.
  20. Knox Central has a lot of offensive weapons and if they can keep from turning the ball over, this should be a close game. Corbin 35 Knox Central 21
  21. Boyle Co. beat Wayne Co. pretty good, but the offensive stats were very close. Wayne Co. turned it over 4 times though and Boyle didn't have any turnovers, plus Boyle shut down Wayne's running game, which were the two biggest factors in the outcome. Wayne also struggled with Pulaski Co., which surprised me more than this score.
  22. The Corbin/Casey Co. game had a 7 man crew and it was a flag fest, which caused the game to have no flow and take forever to play.:irked:
  23. This will be an interesting matchup with Knox Central's head coach from last season(Scotty Russell) and another previous Knox head coach(Wayne Mills) on the Corbin sideline. Corbin's focus need to improve this coming week.
