  1. Corbin losses at home in 2015: Danville 20 - Corbin 0 Knox Central 36 - Corbin 0 Southwestern 14 - Corbin 10 Played the same teams on the road the following year (2016) Corbin 28 - Danville 7 Corbin 39 - Knox Central 0 Corbin 20 -Southwestern 8 Wait a minute, maybe we are actually getting a better whistle on the road.:idunno:
  2. Maybe Coach Smith retired and I missed it;), otherwise Boyle County is still #1.
  3. Four turnovers by UK in the first half, including a scoop and score helped CMU. Westry's penalty also led to a TD after UK had stopped them on 3rd down.
  4. They do not have anyone who starts on both sides of the ball, however they do occasionally bring a couple of guys over to the offense in certain situations.
  5. Corbin jumped out to a 47-7 lead at the half and let the subs play the entire second half. Estep threw for approximately 350 yards in the first half in the rain at Pulaski Co. Next week will be good for the Hounds as Beechwood comes to town.
  6. Estep 347 yards passing in the first half along with 47 rushing. Corbin has over 500 yards offense at the half.
  7. Massengill runs it in from 50+ to score his first varsity TD for Corbin, score now 47-7 at the half.
  8. Kidd with his first TD run for Corbin. Score now 41-7 Corbin with a minute plus left in the half.
  9. Estep with a 70 yard TD run called back. The second long TD run he's had called back. Now 3rd and 40 for the Hounds.
  10. Freshman Longmire with a 63 yd TD run to make it 34-0 Corbin with 10 minutes left until the half.
  11. Estep with 2 TD passes to Steely around 60 yds each and another to Gosslein of 53 yards.
  12. Corbin up 28-0 late in the first quarter.
  13. It appears to me that the top 4 of Boyle Co., Central, Belfry and Corbin have looked the part as the top of this class, with Lex Cath and Tilghman looking to get into the mix.
  14. Someone in the Corbin School System told me that the boys had a participation percentage of over 40% and the girls over 30% in the KHSAA sports, which seems pretty good to me. I believe kids are a lot less active in non-organized type sports and activities, but organized sports seems to still be rolling along ok.
  15. When Corbin had to replace their safety last year in the playoffs, I was really hoping to see Estep in that spot on defense in the finals. He is a difference maker wherever he plays.
  16. I'm with you on this being a high scoring game. This will be a good test for the Redhound defense, playing against a potent passing attack should help expose any weaknesses and also what they need to work on defensively going forward. They are starting 2 new defensive ends and also a couple of new kids in the secondary, so this should be a good learning experience for them.
  17. Danville's QB had a tendency last week to lock on to receivers and to also float the ball a little in the middle of the field. If he does this against Boyle, as aggressive as their defense is, it will spell trouble for the Ads and possibly result in a pick 6 or two. Corbin didn't really take advantage of this, but after seeing the tape, I expect Boyle Co. will if it happens again this week.
  18. The parking is not bad if you familiar with the side streets or time your arrival after some of the crowd from the first game leave. There is also free parking behind the Law Offices across the street and also at First Baptist Church down by the Post Office. I was able to park within a couple of hundred feet from the gate by waiting for the first game to end and have never paid to park at a Corbin game. Some of the parking for the Pigskin is also reserved for the sponsors who get parking passes close to the stadium. The little Church down the street own those lots and raise money for their youth by charging for parking, so at least it's going to a good cause.
  19. Probably so for now is what I'm hearing. Corbin and Danville were kind of playing in each others Bowl Games, but now that Corbin is tied in with the 1st Priority Bowl as well as the Pigskin Classic, they can't really commit to other bowl games. I have heard Highlands may be coming to play next year and Bowling Green has also been mentioned.
  20. Corbin had twice as many total offensive yards as Danville in the game along with getting called for twice as many penalties. Danville's lone TD was partly due to a blatant hold that allowed the runner to break into open field, so I'm not buying the cheating theme.
  21. If his knee was down before the ball came our, it happened before these pictures. He went down and the defender then pulled him over top of him, as shown in the picture. I really couldn't tell in real time even though it happened right in front of where I was standing.
  22. Corbin made way too many mistakes in this game even though they moved the ball at will throughout the game. Three turnovers, too many dropped passes, including one in the endzone and costly penalties that negated big gains will get you beat on down the road. Danville had no answer for Estep though, who throws the ball as well as anyone I have seen in a while.
