  1. Corbin is a completely different offensive team this year as opposed to last year. Losing Sizemore was a big loss to the running game, but they returned virtually everyone else on that side of the ball. That being said, the 2 players with the most receiving yards didn't play offensively and their 2 top RB's combined for 6 total carries last season. Now that Estep and Gosselin are close to 100% healthy, they easily have twice the offensive weapons they had last year. They had more losses on the defensive side, but the defense played very timidly last year in the title game, which was a combination of Boyle hitting some big plays early and often and possibly the scheme and personnel changes they implemented just for that game. I expect to see a lot more aggressive defense this year because I believe they learned a lesson or two from not blitzing at all and allowing the QB a clean pocket and all the time he needed to allow Smith to break free. I hope they go back and watch the film when E-town came to town with Todd at QB with all of that talent around him and copy a little of that defensive scheme that allowed them to easily defeat E-town. If the defense doesn't play really well, Estep will have to play the way he did when Corbin put a running clock on Pulaski County in the 2nd quarter earlier this year at Pulaski Co.
  2. Gibson with the TD run for Corbin. Redhounds up 42-16.
  3. Congrats to the Panthers on their first region championship!
  4. Officiating crew making some strange calls now and have lost control of this game. Corbin now facing 3rd and 36. Corbin players don't need to take the bait and have someone ejected.
  5. Knox Central just missed a 21 yard FG with 2:00 left in the game. Score still tied at 7.
  6. Yeager with the TD run for Corbin. Corbin 35 Bell Co. 8 with 2+ minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
  7. I hope Corbin shuts them out, but I can't see it happening. The Bell County QB who transferred in this year is one of the best players in the state, it's been a while since I have seen anyone as elusive as he is. Their fullback and RB are loads as well, with the fullback weighing in at 250+ with deceptive speed and athletic ability.
  8. I'm pretty sure that you are correct. He knows football, but if he wants to be the coach, then they need to name him the coach. Otherwise, let the Coach do the coaching.
  9. Corbin up 40-0 with 33 seconds left in the first half.
  10. Longmire with a 25 yard TD run, Corbin up 27-0 with 32 seconds left in the first quarter.
  11. Williamsburg up 20-0 early in the 2nd quarter.
  12. Estep hits Fox with a 30 yard TD pass to take a 20-0 lead with 2:39 left in the first quarter.
  13. Corbin up 14-0 with 4 minutes left in the first quarter.
  14. I'll be surprised if Middlesboro doesn't make a coaching change. The coach has been there 5 years and has a record of 10 wins, 44 losses and 1 tie, with a record of 5-39 over the past 4 seasons. The year previous to his first year, Middlesboro was 9-3. Kids have been leaving transferring to other area schools the last couple of years and I'm guessing that trend will continue if something doesn't change now.
  15. Corbin up 41-0 with 7:55 left in the 1st half.
  16. Knox Central up 14-7 with 11 minutes left in the first half.
  17. Corbin 28 Morgan Co. 0 late in the 1st quarter.
  18. Pulaski Co. up 7-0 at the end of the 1st quarter.
  19. Corbin up 14-0 with 5 minutes left in the 1sr quarter.
  20. Gibson with a 4 yard TD run, Corbin now up 14-7 with 7 minutes left in the half.
  21. Tied at 7 at the end of the first quarter.
  22. I believe Central will win 3A this year. I'm sure they are hungry after getting upset at home in the semifinals last year. I felt like Central made some tactical errors in their offensive game plan, plus Corbin played their overall best game of the year that night and were able to escape with the win. They won't let it slip away this year.
  23. Congrats to the Briar Jumpers on their district championship. They have a chance to make a long run in the playoffs. It's sad how far Middlesboro has fallen.
  24. Casey County played much better than the score would indicate. Corbin just wore them down in the second half and put the game away with some big plays.
  25. Williamsburg's passing attack was just too much for the Wildcats tonight. The teams combined for over 1100 yards of offense according to the radio announcers.
