  1. Mizzou by 8. If the QB finds time to throw, he will expose some holes in the UK secondary and the Cats won't be able to score enough to keep up.
  2. I believe Central will win 3A this year. I'm sure they are hungry after getting upset at home in the semifinals last year. I felt like Central made some tactical errors in their offensive game plan, plus Corbin played their overall best game of the year that night and were able to escape with the win. They won't let it slip away this year.
  3. UK has to be able to throw the ball to win this game. If Wilson stays in, they have to open it up and at least take a chance throwing it.
  4. Congrats to the Briar Jumpers on their district championship. They have a chance to make a long run in the playoffs. It's sad how far Middlesboro has fallen.
  5. Casey County played much better than the score would indicate. Corbin just wore them down in the second half and put the game away with some big plays.
  6. Williamsburg's passing attack was just too much for the Wildcats tonight. The teams combined for over 1100 yards of offense according to the radio announcers.
  7. Chase Estep from Corbin has only ran the ball once the past 3 games since sustaining an ankle injury in the Mayfield game. He also has only thrown it 40 times in the 3 games, although he completed 35 of those. His Mr. Football stock has probably taken a big hit during this period as well.
  8. Williamsburg has played a much better schedule, so I look for that to favor them a little. Williamsburg 34 - Lynn Camp 30.
  9. I was pleasantly surprised that Corbin was able to run the ball as well as they did, especially considering Estep only ran it once the entire game. He is still nursing the ankle injury he suffered in the Mayfield game and it appeared to me that Haddix was being extremely careful with him last night. As far as the penalties, it kind of seemed to me that Bell was trying to get penalized after Corbin got the safe lead.:idunno: They got one unsportsmanlike conduct penalty while lined up and before the ball was snapped, must have been something they said was all I could deduct.
  10. Corbin is a ranked a little too high in my opinion, probably should be #4 or 5. They are more explosive offensively, but penalties and lack of a consistent running game may cost them at some point, possibly as early as this Friday.
  11. I would have given it to Snell as well, but the play that was called seems to work about 90% of the times I have seen it called for at least a couple of yards. The defense played well enough to win, but the offense didn't, so they have to find some playmakers in the passing game, whether it be the QB or the WR's or every team is going to stack the box. The last 6 quarters that UK has played, the defenses have done just that and the offensive output has been ugly.
  12. I have to agree with you, plus I don't think that the last play call was really that bad, the TE's just did not get open at all. The defense had to be keying on Snell, and they had stopped the run all night, so I'm guessing that we get stuffed there if we run it. Now Wilson needed to get rid of it to preserve field position, but sometimes the other team's defense is really good and makes winning plays.
  13. Knox Central up 31-6 with 9 minutes left to play.
  14. Maguet returns the opening kickoff 73 yards for a TD, then he gets a pick 6 to put Corbin up 14-0. It's now 42-0 at the half.
  15. Treyveon Longmire, Corbin running back has run for 251 yards on 30 carries and caught 11 passes for 227 yards for the varsity. He also has returned a kickoff for a TD.
  16. Congrats to Whitley Co. on getting a much needed district win. North Laurel may go without a win in their district, even though it appears to be down this year as well.
  17. Did Rockstar state that JC was the one running the game?
  18. A guy who played on our high school baseball team quit after the first game of the year. He didn't start, although he definitely should have, so the coach pinch hits him in the bottom of the 7th inning in a tie game and he hits a walk off home run. He rounds the bases, tells the coach he's done and quits the team, although he did come back out the next year and was a starter.
  19. Corbin should have dropped down to around #4 in my opinion. They have struggled offensively since losing their #1 WR Gosselin in the first series of the second half against Beechwood. The defense looked tired down the stretch against Beechwood and also in the second half against Mayfield, even though they were platooning. I have also heard some chatter about their 2 platoon system and the elite teams exposing some weaknesses that might not be there if a few of the players played both ways.
  20. Bell Co. had 2 very good players transfer in, one being their QB, so I'm going with Bell Co. in this one.
  21. I cannot understand why Ohio did not run a QB sneak on 2nd down from inside the 1 yd line. UC had no one lined up over the center and the QB could have easily fallen into the endzone behind center. Instead he hands it off 5 yds. deep and the RB is is dropped for a loss, which led to the horrible pass on 3rd down. Cost them the game.
  22. How many times did Estep get sacked, seemed like 8-10. He is still learning the QB position, and Mayfield taught him some hard lessons last night. He has been able to make plays out of nothing against most of the other teams this year, but the Mayfield defense was very disciplined and wouldn't allow him to escape. They were also able to double on #8, take away the short routes and dare anyone else to beat them deep, which didn't happen.
  23. That could have been a 14 point swing. Give Mayfield credit though for taking advantage of it though. Mayfield is just a better team.
