A few that comes to mind for me,

 

RB/DB Patric Edwards- Southwestern: All he has done is post four consecutive 1000+ yard seasons

 

LB/FB Carter Smith- Madison Southern: He has been a tackling machine the past couple years, this year he has added the role of being his team's #1 rusher.

 

HB/DB Taveon Hunter- Belfry: Teams who have played him respect him, but his lack of carries in Belfry's Offense over the years has kept him off the map. Highlight reel.

 

I know there are more.. share away!

I can think of 3-4 Corbin defensive players that may be underrated, although maybe not with the Redhound coaches and fans.

2. Aaron Money - LB/DE

3. Ethan Simms - DB/LB/Punt blocker

4. Caleb Mitchell - S, punter

Number 85 of Campbell County

#11 Elijah Mckenney- CB Beechwood Led the State in ints. (All Classes 1a-6a) as a Jr. Senior year gets no action and ultimate respect from every team. They completely throw away from him. Has fueled the rest of the Secondary to have great years. High IQ and great technique!

For anyone that keeps up with Bowling Green Purples you know that in our recent success QBs Devin Hayes and Clark Payne has been unbelievable! Two awesome HS QBs.

 

Did you realize that current BGHS QB, Beau BuCANNON has the chance to have a better overall statistical year than both Hayes and Payne had their junior year?

 

BuCANNON has had a fantastic season (ending regular season with zero interceptions).

 

Beau BuCANNON needs to be on most underrated list for sure! Kid can play.

Justin Blackburn (Mr. Everything) at 8-2 Ludlow. Plays QB because the team needs him to and this hampers what he probably could do as a traditional back. Rushed this year for 1,989 yards, 34 TDs, 1 - 2pt conversion, threw for over 1,100 yards and 13 TDs. Plays MLB and leads the team with 77 tackles and also is the punter (no stats on website). Very little publicity on him because he plays at 1A Ludlow and appears smallish in the 5'9" and 175 range. I am only guessing his size, but he appears to be the best athlete on the field every Friday night (have seen him 7 times over three years). Hard hitting tackler that will knock most runners off their feet and will outrun high school DBs regularly. Some small school is going to get a real throwback football player.

Number 85 of Campbell County

 

Well, you had me looking on KHSAA at the roster and I couldn't find a #85. I guess he's underrated by the CC coaches.

You guys think way too big for me most of the time. Most underrated in the state? I don't know enough about the state to offer an opinion or to be able to evaluate those opinions offered. It also seems to me that some of those mentioned here hardly qualify as underrated. They are stars on their teams and get lots of publicity locally. For instance, it's hard for me to consider Blackburn as an unknown. But then again, maybe statewide he is. To me he's not because I guess I live in the vicinity of where he plays.

Another name that is well know locally but I don’t think gets enough recognition regionally and statewide is senior linebacker #21 Cade Harvey for Franklin-Simpson. He has started since he was a Freshman and led the team in tackles since his Sophomore season. He is a coach on the field and one tough kid.

The fact that Jake Chisholm doesn’t have a college offer (I don’t think), has to make him the most under rated. What ever school lands him is getting a steal.

Can definitely play at a NAIA or D3 school. When I saw him play against Beechwood he for sure wasn't close to being the best player on the field.
