I'll have to throw out Junior Jacob Ratliff for Oldham County. Was 1st team All-District as a sophomore at OLB and led the team in tackles (79) and INT (3). New coach with new system and he transitioned to Strong Safety. He currently has 4 INT, returning 2 for touchdowns, has 49 tackles with 10 of those being tackles for LOSS. Has to be one of the best open field tacklers in the state (Dad's opinion). He also starts on Offense at WR. He has 19 receptions with 1 TouchDown and 1 2pt conversion. Only comes off the filed on Kickoff, kickoff return and punt.

1,100 total yards 8 pass tds 4 rush tds. He’s gonna be the future in nky football by his junior year. Great open field tackler and he hasn’t yet to play much defense.

Can definitely play at a NAIA or D3 school. When I saw him play against Beechwood he for sure wasn't close to being the best player on the field.

 

One of the many BW games I also saw (their my team). Have seen Justin multiple times ( 3 times this year); and, there is no question BW has some fine athletes. But, I can say with 100% confidence, if I was to choose one player from those two teams to be my featured runner it would be Blackburn. If I was to chose one linebacker from those two teams to put in the middle of the action, it would be Blackburn.

 

No question, the BW team overwhelmed Ludlow and did not allow him to do anything. BW scouted thoroughly and knew the Ludlow offense and keys probably as well as the Panthers. BW totality as a Team was and continues to be impressive. They did not allow Ludlow to do anything and that included Justin. (See game thread updates). I don't think I took anything away from them in my accolades toward Justin Blackburn.

The kid is very talented and should have a great high school career. I knew this when I saw him play in BCPWFL.

 

However, I don't think a freshman can be underrated. You have to give people a chance to see him and then, if after seeing him he doesn't get his due, then he is underrated. That takes at least a full season and then coming back in the next campaign see if he gets his due.

 

I have to think that next year every defense will have a plan to try to contain him because they are giving him his due.

First of all it's offensive and defensive linemen.

Most of the games I've watched this year were in NKY and being my star is a defensive tackle I've watched some very fine offensive lineman play. Problem there I've never heard their names
