Corbin 61 South Laurel 52
Corbin gets the district win at South Laurel as Taylor leads the way with 32 and Grubb gets 22 for the Cards(unofficially).

Corbin 78 Lexington Catholic 75
Lex Cath was up 2, Taylor drove to the basket, missed, got the rebound and a foul(no idea if it was a legit foul or not) was called with 5 seconds left. The Lex Cath player was t'ed up, ref should have let it go in my opinion, but I didn't hear what he said either. The worst case scenario would have been Catholic's ball with 5 seconds left and a tie game without the T.:idunno: The coach got his T after Taylor had already gone to the line to shoot the first 2 shots.

Corbin 78 Lexington Catholic 75
Corbin is going to be pretty good. They returned everyone from last year, plus a starter from the previous year who missed all of last year with any injury. Taylor's younger brother(scored 17 last night), who is a freshman, will be a key player as well this year.

Belfry vs. Central Updates - 3A State Championship Game
That was the formula that worked for Corbin, which also kept the Belfry offense off of the field. When Corbin went away from that plan in the 4th quarter, the wheels fell off. Corbin had 15 first downs in the game, with none of those coming in the 4th quarter Belfry when the Pirates were expecting it instead of setting the long throws up with the short ones.

Corbin 81 Mercer County 61
Andrew Taylor scores 39 leading Corbin to the win in the Legacy Nissan Classic in London. Mercer just didn't have an answer for Taylor tonight.

Belfry 42 Corbin 17
That play and the decision to go for it were huge. When Corbin botched the snap and failed to score, the wind seemed to go out of the sails of the entire Corbin sideline. I agreed with the decision to forego the FG because the 3 pts. only gives you a 13 point lead and you don't know if you will get that close again with just a quarter to go. I would have taken my chances with Sizemore running it straight at them, but if the Redhounds would have executed the play,(appeared to me that it was going to be a direct snap to Estep who would have thrown it to an open Sizemore) then I would have thought the call was brilliant. I believe that if Corbin kicked the FG, then the score more than likely would have ended up 21-20 in favor of the Pirates. Corbin had to play with more emotion than Belfry to get the win, maybe a FG would have subsided the momentum change, but who knows. I can't find fault in the coaching staff for taking that gamble though because Belfry was going to score a couple of more times regardless.

Belfry 42 Corbin 17
Corbin had a small margin of error and they made a couple of costly mistakes that derailed their upset bid. Corbin started losing the momentum when they had the TD called back right before the half, but had a chance to regain it late in the 3rd qtr. when they had the bad snap when they had it at the Belfry 1 yd line trying to go up by 10. Corbin seemed to panic somewhat when Belfry then took the lead and committed 4 turnovers deep in their own territory, which led to 3 Belfry scores in the last 6 minutes. Congrats to Belfry, who are a well oiled machine and also to the Redhounds on a fantastic season.

Belfry at Corbin Class 3A Semfinal
Corbin may have the fastest player on the field Friday, but whether he will play any offensive snaps is questionable, although I kind of expect to see him in there for a play or two. Who knows if these plays will be executed correctly or not, especially considering he probably hasn't caught a pass this season. Corbin may need some offensive contributions from 2-3 defensive players to keep this game close enough to have a shot in the 4th quarter.

Belfry at Corbin Class 3A Semfinal
A lot of things will have to go right for Corbin to pull the upset. They will need to hit on some big plays and create some Belfry turnovers. Corbin has had some younger kids step up and become playmakers this year on both sides of the ball, plus Sizemore has really improved at QB, and I would like their chances against anyone else in 3A, but Belfry may be just too much.

Belfry at Corbin Class 3A Semfinal
There will be free shuttle buses running from the parking lots on Depot St. to the stadium. That will be the best place to park in my opinion, plus there are some good restaurants on Main St., which is the next street up from Depot. It's about a 7-10 minute walk depending upon which lot you park in.

Belfry at Corbin Class 3A Semfinal
The parking that is directly beside the stadium will be taken early in the afternoon on a first come first serve basis. I have never had to walk over 5 minutes or so to any game that I can recall, although being local I guess I know where to look. There is parking just across Lynn Camp Creek at the Little League baseball park and on the side streets close to the stadium. The city recently purchased a trolley car, which would come in handy to bring people from the parking lots on Depot St., which run parallel to Main St., although I'm not sure if it will be up and running by Friday. They ran shuttle buses from those same parking lots when Whitley and Corbin played earlier this year, so maybe that will happen again. I will post the info when I find something out this week.

Corbin 38 Casey County 17
The coaching staff at Casey Co. have done an excellent job getting them to a Regional Final. Congrats to them on a fantastic season. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going.

Corbin 38 Casey County 17
Casey Co. did a very good job of spreading the field and mixing their running and passing game to keep the Corbin defense a little off balance. The Redhound defense was able to make enough big plays to keep them out of the endzone though to secure the victory.

Corbin 39 Knox Central 0
Corbin picks up the road win. Defense played exceptionally well and the passing game was solid, but the running game still needs some work.
