  1. Bell County has been the King of the Mountains for the last several years. Their record in the last 3 seasons is 38-3. And they are already 3-0 this week. But Johnson Central, Knox Central, Breathitt, and several other schools all have really good teams. Its a new year so we will see how it goes.
  2. This should be a good game. I'm sure Johnson Central will really be up for this game. They've played a tough schedule so far and have faired well. It will be a good measuring stick for both teams early in the season.
  3. Henry Clay should have the best team they have had in a while. They only lost 1 key player from last year. The interesting thing will be how ready their young guys do. They got about 3 young players with size I sall this summer that look to be very promising. They also have Kiesling, Stewart, and Kymble at the point who is very good. And they had several more good players. I look for them to be a top 5 team in the region at the least.
  4. Didn't Housley play for Newport? I don't remember him being at Holmes before. I think the only year he played for Holmes was his senior year. You can say what you want about the Johnson boys. The started high school somewhere else and transfered to Holmes.
  5. Johnson Central seems all about playing close games. I believe they have their toughest game of the season thus far next week going to Bell Co. No offense to Boyle Co. who is very good, but they had Boyle at home and Bell is on the road and I think thats the difference.
  6. Good post. I think a big key will be Tanner Napier. Hes shown glimpses of being great at times and then at other times you can't even tell hes out there. If Davis keeps developing and Napier steps up it should be a good season for Lafayette.
  7. Holmes has really benefited from transfers with their recent run. It will be an interesting year in the 9th with Holmes being down, but still having a good team. But when you lose the Johnson boys and Pittman thats a big loss considering what they accomplished.
  8. Scott Co. looked really good at the state AAU tournament. No one played them close really. With Shotwell, Manning, and Ivey they have good talent. It looks like they will be a smaller team that may play a little faster than last year when i saw them. Should be a fun year in Georgetown.
  9. Perry Central should have a very good team this year. I look for them and Hazard to battle it out for the regional title.
  10. North Laurel had a good run last year. I know they lost some good players. What do they have coming back?
  11. I hear they are in a rebuilding process and it may take a year or 2, but I think Coach Thompson will get Mboro going in time. I hear they will be very young this year.
  12. LexCath has had a tough off season losing both Jaylen Beckham to St. Benedict and Larry Morton to Bryan Station. Those are 2 great players. But they still have 3 very nice returning players with Seth Beckham, Taylor Martin, and Scott Shuette. Plus some good young players. They will still be one of the main teams in the 11th region and will run their system.
  13. Knox Central should be a very solid team with Cannady and Broughton. They also have the good young big man, but I forget his name. KC seems to have had a nice run of talent lately. Of course they lose Cody Miller who was a great talent.
  14. 5A seems a lot easier than 4A. The only really good perennial team I see in 5A is Bowling Green. A matter of fact, with Bell Co. moving to 3A and having Lou. Central along with Breathitt, Belfry, and Corbin, I believe 3A is better at the top than 5A will be.
  15. It is a bit odd that all the 11th region schools are down in football it seems, but as for Fayette Co, basketball and football in the school system is ran very poorly. I'm not saying anything against the coaches but the rules are strict and its just hard to be successful IMO.
  16. This team will be loaded. The question is will Kimbro and Price be eligible? I heard Price would be and Kimbro won't be, but thats just rumors as far as I know.
  17. One of my favorites was in 2001. Bell Co. beat an undefeated Lawrence Co. team 8-0 at Lawrence,. Bell had like a 12 minute drive towards the end of the 3rd quarter and throughout most of the 4th quarter to win the game.
  18. Bell Co. looked awful good Friday night. They are going to be so much fun to watch this season. But they can't overlook a team like Madison Central. Its a big school with a lot of kids and a new coach and they beat North Laurel who has been pretty good lately.
  19. Hes a great athlete! Another player from the 13th that excells at both is Ben Madon at Bell County.
  20. This doesn't make sense to me really. I assume hes going to have a pretty good drive to school everyday from Shelby Co. I don't know why they didn't move in order for him to enjoy high school and play ball. Even if it is about academics its a shame the boy can't play ball this year.
  21. No he wouldn't. He never shows much at scrimmages. Thats not a slight on Clay Co. who apparently didn't run much either, but Bell Co. does not approach scrimmages anything like a real game.
  22. ????? A bit of a surprise that he isn't going to one of the main teams in Louisville this year.
