With Hicks, Hatcher, and Quick, they will be extremely tough to match up with when those guys are juniors.

Just got off the phone with Darryl Sr and the family is very excited about the decision. Academics were by far the biggest factor, and that is evident by not trying to find a way around the transfer rules and just sitting out the year to work on not only his game, but the school work needed to be prepared for the next level...

They should just call them TheVille aau team lol. Maybe the Levitch kid from North Oldham and Prewitt from MC will look for better academics for a hefty price.

Wow! I would hate to sit out when I was a player that is a huge decision.

How did Scott County miss out on this kid? Is Billy slipping?

Nicely done, my friend.

If he wasn't going to be forced to switch to the new school would he have stayed at Shelby?

I think it would have been more likely that he stayed, but the family has been searching for a more challenging academic environment for a while now. In my dealings with the youngster over the last year and a half, he is a very humble, thoughtful and well spoken kid. I think Trinity is a perfect fit for him going forward on and most importantly off the court...

T can be a good fit for a lot of kids.

I just don't buy the "academics" side when he wasn't going to switch had everything stayed the same.

It doesn't make him a bad kid. He's just playing the game by saying what we want to hear.

The family wasn't fully happy with the academic side of things at Shelby Co, and that was a big part in why the South Oldham move was put in motion before last year. Hicks just didn't click with the living arrangement and moved back home. It's not like the situation at Shelby County was roses...

I couldn't imagine sitting out a year to transfer, so I give the kid kudos.

IMO it shows the impact of AAU ball. Kids know that they are on display in AAU moreso than for their high school team. He's made a splash and will follow it up again next summer. While I'm sure he'll miss playing my guess is his priority, like many, is the AAU circuit. Its simply a sign of the times.

Me too.
