Or is it simply the reason they want everyone to believe on which their choice is based?

Yeah that's it. You've got it all figured out as usual...:rolleyes:

It's a fair question to ask ...
No one expects that the world revolves around Trinity. But, do expect when questions or misinformation are posted, that we'll respond. I would hope that the fact that the answers are not just opinions, but that fact exists to support them carries some weight.

I too wish him success, just as I wish all kids success at whatever school they attend, and at any pursuits they may take, athletic or not.

No one was attacking Trinity. I re-read my posts, I never once attacked Trinity. But since we are all airing it out here, once again, we get the Trinity antennae up and we're off to the races with all the links and whatnot. As for misinformation, the only post that seemed misinformed was the one by Rainman which you enlightened. I hope the kid and the school have a great relationship and he does well in his endeavor as a student athlete there and beyond and makes the Trinity alumni proud. There were other options out there for this kid, and quite frankly, I'd bet some were more high profile, nationally renowned "basketball" academies.

I don't feel that I responded if attacked. I feel I answered questions. Unfortunately, there seems to be a perception that if one imparts full answers that there must be some defense involved.

You would be correct. I know of one big time national program on the east coast that was considered and was close to being the route the family would take. If athletics were the main factor, it was a no brainer choice...

Mom, no one asked any!

My apolgies then, for butting in.

Have a lovely afternoon!

How did Scott County miss out on this kid? Is Billy slipping?

Nice one SUMO!!!! :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

And....this is one exciting thread! :popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Was he in academic distress? If the answer is no, then the Trinity rehabilitation angle that seems to be portrayed here is hogwash. Again, he's moving for both. Didn't mean to put words into or out of anyone's mouth in this thing.

I don't believe anyone said it was rehabilitation. I doubt that many of us know what this young man's academic needs are. I know I certainly don't and I wouldn't share them if I did. If you will check, you will find that faxisfax questioned the academic reason for the transfer based on there being better academic choices. I chose to dispute that. For the top students there are a few very good choices in Jefferson County. Trinity is one of them. For kids that need special help, no school is better. If you know of a school with a top to bottom academic program as good as Trinity's, by all means tell us about it. It would truly gladden my heart to find another school that does what Trinity does. Obviously this is an opinion. It is based on 45 years following the Trinity academic program very closely.

I never once said athletics was not a factor in the decision. It most certainly did play a role. I can also guarantee you that the academic side of things was the biggest factor for Hicks and his family making this choice...

He wanted to go to a school with top notch academics, good athletics, and great community support? Imagine that....
