  1. This is great news. Stenzel is a fine player and fun to watch. I think hes a good fit there as well.
  2. I did not get to attend Midnight Madness, but I hear there was a a big crowd on hand. I can't wait for season to start. There is a lot of excitement about this years's team.
  3. There are the D-1 full scholarship guys I know of: Ricardo Johnson (Holmes)- Ohio U Vance Hall (Franklin Co)- Wright St. U Ge-lawn Guyn (Scott Co)-Cinncinatti U Chad Jackson (Scott Co)- James Madison U Dakotah Euton (Scott Co)- Akron U Josh Sewell (Trinity)- Miami (OH) U Elisha Justice (Shelby Valley)- Louisville U
  4. I really like the idea of 5 classes in football. I think that is a good compromise. I did not go to the state championship games in football so I really can't comment on WKU hosting it. In basketball, I do agree with him that leaving Rupp Arena is possibly dangerous considering the success of the event. Although, for whatever reason I thought attendance was down last year. The best thing that he said I thought was simplifying the wording in transfer rules. Although its just not a simple issue in general.
  5. Hey if Gilbert and the front office could have brung in 1 perennial all star in the past 7 years to go with Lebron James he would still be there. Instead Cleveland kept making dumb moves like bringing in Shaq. All they had to do was get him someone else that could really play like a Joe Johnson or a Deron Williams or a power forward that could score. Cleveland hasn't got another player that would be considered in the top 10 at their position except for possibly Mo Williams who maybe the 10th best PG in the league, but that might be pushing it.
  6. Congratulations to Ge-lawn. This is great news for this young man. Hes a great talent. I've always been impressed by his athleticism and ability. It was a shame that he didn't seem to be healthy in the Sweet 16 this year. He will be a good fit there IMO.
  7. Tates Creek and Scott Co. will probably be the top 2 teams in the region IMO. LexCath losing 2 great players IMO will really hurt, but they will still be very good too.
  8. Just looking at the list I believe Fucci should be much higher. I think he is better than Parker. He should probably be around 10th IMO. Also, I believe Hickey should be up higher. Hes probably a top 5 or 6 player in the senior class next year.
  9. The best up and coming sophomores I have seen are: 1. Hicks-Seen him in the Sweet 16 and a couple other games. Hes an incredible talent IMO. 2. Hawkins-Very impressive player I seen 3 times last year. Every time I seen him as a freshman he scored over 20 points. 3. Morton-I saw him in a couple AAU games, very impressive. 4. Prewitt-Great player for Montgomery Co. I think he has a big upside and will get taller. 5. Quick-Great athlete, but I think football is his sport and with a focus on that it will probably hurt him slightly moving forward. 6. Richardson-I seen him last week at the State AAU tournament. Impressive player. Does everything so easily.
  10. I saw Tates Creek. Neither Barksdale or Fucci played. I also thought Henry Clay looked good early on. I don't know what happened to them in the tournament. I thought Scott Co. looked really good when I seen them as well. Why would South Laurel play a sr JV? Thats a little odd. I wonder why more teams don't play in this? Like Clark Co, LexCath, and Mason Co. Its not a far trip for them and from what I seen its ran really well. The referees are getting evaluated and seem like they are trying to better themselves. I understand Louisville schools. Isn't the Derek Smith tournament going on.
  11. In the last couple years no. But I don't know of any HS transfers going to Scott Co. this year.
  12. Being the favorite and giving them the title are 2 totally different things. Lou. Eastern is going to be awfully good too in the area. Trinity will also be good and you always have Ballard to worry about. No reason to give anyone the state title yet. Also who is Jakarr Sampson? The player Demling mentioned in his blog.
  13. That may be the worst post you have ever had. This is Kentucky. Anything can happen. There will be a lot of tough teams in their way.
  14. I will be in town until Saturday night, so I am going to try to go to some games. It looks like a good field. Should be very competitive. I look forward to seeing Tates Creek play. They will be very good this year IMO.
  15. When you look at players that have flat got it done when it matters most since say 1980 you got a small group of players that were the ultimate dominant players in the playoffs. Michael Jordan Magic Johnson Larry Bird Hakeem Olijawon Kobe Bryant Shaquille O'neal Scottie Pippen Tim Duncan This is an elite group of guys who weren't only the best players in the NBA, but the ulitmate winners.
  16. Indiana just has more talent in basketball. Thats just the bottom line. Indianapolis has so many people and top-notch athletes. Plus for whatever reason Louisville doesn't produce the basketball players they used to and its our biggest city.
  17. I think it would be good to have a show like on ESPN or done by a different station. But MTV would probably be more about finding the drama in the student's personal lives and I could possibly see that turn into a negative or even embarassing situation for high school kids.
  18. No surprise to see Watts play so well. Hes a great basketball player and underrated.
  19. I doubt either one of these. One thing that I have seen over the years is that while the talent level in Ky isn't what it is else where HS basketball coaching is very good in Kentucky and when you talk about LexCath they are very well-coached. And I believe Lexington Catholic High School is a great place to get an education (and I am by no means a private school type guy).
  20. I have no idea about everything you said, but something just seems shady with him. Its hard to not be atleast concerned about McLeod.
  21. Tournaments like Beachball, City of the Palms, the Hall of Fame classic, and the Primetime shootout are big events that see a ton of coaches. The Marshall Co. hoopfest draws a lot of coaches too.
  22. St. Benedicts in the past have played in a lot of big tournaments and you get seen doing that. Also, they have been on ESPN before. He will get seen a lot at St. Benedicts too as well as AAU. Now with McLeod I don't know if this will be that good of a situation or not. LexCath also travels and gets seen too. I believe they played at the Chik-filet tournament last year, which is a big HS tourney.
  23. If Danny Hurley was still there I would agree with you, but Mcloud got fired at IU didn't he? I wish him well, but the grass may not always be greener. Which Gametime may no more about that than me, but it seems a little odd.
