I grew up with the Pike County Bowl. Back in the late 80's when Pikeville and Belfry were ruling the state it was the biggest event around. It should definitely go to week 0. It would become the biggest opening football event in easten Ky and if they all played teams from across the state it might be one of the biggest opening bowls in the state.

Yes. The Appalachian Bowls is here. It was reborn last season as the Whayne Supply/Cat Rental Store Appalachain Bowl presented by Appalachian Wireless. This year it is week 2 with Clay County facing Middlesboro and Johnson Central facing Knox County. Live TV is hard to beat.

Half of Calys scores this year have come of of long plays over 30 yards for the td. With three backs capable of going the distance time of possession isn't quite as deadly as it would be with an up the middle ground attack. I still take Clay by 12.
