  1. It seems to me there is a bunch of teams playing really well right now, or teams going through a slump, but very capable of being very good. Its hard to rank a top 5. You have: Ballard Trinity Holmes Scott Co. LexCath Eastern Male J'town Shelby Valley Clark Co. Warren Central Seneca Lafayette Tates Creek Highlands I really like all these teams.
  2. I think the shot clock would be a great idea. Make it say a 40 second shot clock that gives teams plenty of time to run an offense, but prevents stalling. That is the big rule I'd like to see put in.
  3. So the next commissioner of the KHSAA needs to have linebacker on his or her resume?
  4. Anyone heard about Wilson? Hes a great player, hope its nothing serious.
  5. This is one of the funnier posts I have read. We aren't asking the commissioner to play middle linebacker.
  6. I'm not following you here. Shaw Robbins read the sportsmanship statement and was a kid who had an amazing high school career. I'm sure it was an honor for him to do that.
  7. Trinity is very good. And a big reason is they play great defense. I saw them last year at the LexCath tournament and wasn't impressed with them defensively. But this year they are great on that end of the floor. I don't get the peak to early stuff. As long as they stay healthy they should be very good throughout.
  8. Like I said the 7th region is better than the 11th. Which Henry Clay, Dunbar, and Bryan Station are all struggling right now. J'town has a great team and Male is good too, but of course play in such a tough region.
  9. GRC is very good. They played Trinity very tough and lost a close ball game and then had to go against Lou. Eastern. Also, don't forget they are playing in Louisville with I assume 7th region refs. If GRC was in the 7th region they would be right there with Trinity, Ballard, Seneca, Eastern, and J'town. BTW, I believe the last 3 or 4 years the 11th region has been the toughest region in the state. This year, no doubt its the 7th region!
  10. Anytime you beat a team like Mason Co. and the tradition they have its a big win for a program. Mason has been great the last 10 years or so especially. But Mason is down this year. They still have a good team, but I don't believe they are a top 20 team let along a top 10 team like they usually are.
  11. Just looking at the stats it looks like Holmes took too many 3s. Also, McEachern shot 27 free throws and Holmes just 8. Then McEachern outrebounded Holmes really bad. Judging by that McEachern appears to be the more aggressive tougher team last night, which is surprising.
  12. Pitino did okay at UK with Walker and the rest of the players though.
  13. Eastern wins by 15 or so. Shelby Co. has some good players, but Eastern is deeper and a very good team.
  14. Pawsatt isn't as good as Kowolonek is. Hes a great player. Pawsatt is pretty good, but not that good.
  15. They lost a lot last year. Setty is a great player, but they don't have the players they have had in the past. I don't think they are a top 15 team. Highlands winning without 2 of their best players is a good example of that. Anyways, that is my opinion.
  16. Big win for Highlands, especially with 2 of their best players out. Mason is down this year particularly without Pawsat right now.
  17. The whole system is a mess. Look at middle school. Teams only play 5 or 6 football games and middle school basketball doesn't start playing until January. Those 2 things are ridiculous!
  18. I believe both teams are very close. It will probably come down to these 2 teams.
  19. Clay beat Harlan at Knox Central in 99. The following year Corbin won the region against Bell Co. at Bell Co.
  20. I think you misunderstood what I said. I do believe the region should be at Harlan Co. atleast once. I was commenting on Les saying that Harlan Co, Clay Co, and South Laurel could all host it too. That would be unfair to let those 3 schools host it and not other regional schools ever again. It needs to be held at the Arena and see how it works out.
  21. Then Bell Co....Then Knox Central......then North Laurel..etc. It wouldn't be fair to give a region to those schools without giving one to other bigger regional schools.
  22. Without knowing any details or accusing LexCath of doing anything wrong, it appears LexCath has benefitted from the way sports in Fayette Co. is being ran. I'd say its ran pretty poorly right now. LexCath has had Vee Sanford, Seth Beckham, Jaylen Beckham, and Larry Morton come from Fayette Co. schools in recent memory.
  23. I didn't know they did that. I have said that as far as that deal goes it was a mess. I was upset at the time, but I can't blame them for playing Mitchell. He was a great player and has moved on and is successful, which is good for him.
