Looks like Louisville schools are playing awfully well this month. Can they be there in the end?

Realistic question, how could GRC be top 3 in the state if they are not even top 3 in the 7th region?

Not a good showing by GRC, too much talent there.

I've said it all along, missing a true point guard. All of the top teams have to have a good point guard.

GRC is very good. They played Trinity very tough and lost a close ball game and then had to go against Lou. Eastern. Also, don't forget they are playing in Louisville with I assume 7th region refs. If GRC was in the 7th region they would be right there with Trinity, Ballard, Seneca, Eastern, and J'town.

BTW, I believe the last 3 or 4 years the 11th region has been the toughest region in the state. This year, no doubt its the 7th region!

Are them 7th region refs in Lexington calling the games at the Defenders Classic too where the 7th region is dominating?

At the beginning of this tournament I called Clark County the best team in the state.. I stand corrected.

Don't count GRC out just yet it is only December! Losing by a total of 13 points to two very hot teams is not as bad as it would seem. This was in their back yard too! A team that plays well in December sometimes struggles to maintain that momentum the rest of the season. Like wise a team that may lose a few close games in December has motivation going into the second half of the season. The 5/3 will give you a better idea just how these teams stack up in DECEMBER! I believe GRC is still one of the top teams in the state and will be just fine when March rolls around.:thumb:

Like I said the 7th region is better than the 11th. Which Henry Clay, Dunbar, and Bryan Station are all struggling right now. J'town has a great team and Male is good too, but of course play in such a tough region.

Gosh, maybe the 7th region can win a state title soon. Hard to believe only one this decade with all that talent.

As recently as 2006 ...

The road to the championship is a lot tougher coming out of the 7th or 11th!

GRC will meet minimal resistance in the 10th from Mason and Scott but I would expect them to get there to Rupp. If they were in the 7th, they would be one of three or four teams in the mix because the 7th region teams will have to battle for three rounds to get out.

I would bet if the tourney allowed two teams from each region you would see a lot more 7th,11th region teams winning it all- but they don't!

Good to see that Eastern came out with a purpose tonight. A healthy Kam Woods will make them tougher. They are undefeated when he gets his minutes.

After watching GRC play twice I believe that their starters are very talented. I do believe that they would struggle with the depth of most 7th region teams. In the 7th you don't have blowouts where you can rest your starters. IMHO GRC's bench players would have trouble flourishing in the 7th.
