  1. I'd like to see a couple of the 7th region powers switched to the 6th region. Geographically I don't know where all the schools are at and how that would work, but I think it would be nice. I'd like to see the 11th region split up a bit like Louisville and Northern Ky is. All the good teams in central KY are in 1 region except for Clark Co and West Jessamine. I'm not sure how I feel about this yet, but I could see moving Harlan Co. and Harlan City to the 14th region and moving Rockastle back into the 13th, which has already been mentioned on here. They could also move McCreary Central into the 13th. If the region is going to be at Corbin that wouldl be pretty centralized for nearly everyone. Harlan has a long trip to Corbin and vice versa. That would also create more room to move some 11th region teams into the 12 region like maybe Mad. Central or even Lafayette and Dunbar for example.
  2. Pineville getting out of a district with Bell Co. is one. At the time Knox Central wasn't very good and P'ville ended up winning a district or 2 because of this. Had they been in Bell's district they wouldn't have won. Also I think the guy who was on the board of control from Somerset was instrumental in moving the Laurel Co. schools. No one is going to admit to doing this to help their schools in their area, but that is my opinion on what is happening.
  3. I forget the school, but there was a board of control member from the 12 region who fought really hard to get the Laurel schools out of the 12th region and into the 13th region. There were several examples where board of control members' schools and areas got a better situation than before, but I can't remember all of them.
  4. Vee Sanford and Richie Phares were also very good last year. They were dominant players. Unfortunately Phares' season was cut short because of injury. And Sanford missed a few games with an injury as well.
  5. Tates Creek seems to be really playing well at this point in the season. I believe they have won like 10 in a row now or maybe more. Its going to be very interesting to see how this district plays out.
  6. IMO I think that Sewell and Watts should be the favorites right now. McCreary Central would be very mediocre without Watts. Yet with him a small school like McCreary who is usually bad in bball has been able to beat some good 7th region schools and play with good teams. Hes also put up huge numbers best I can tell. As for Sewell he has been the best player on a team that has had the best regular season of anyone. Hes made big plays and is a great player. I just think that the post season should factor in on this as well.
  7. If the alignment is done like it was last time you can look and see the people who are on the board of control and their respecitve schools or areas get favorable alignments.
  8. IMO Mack played the best out of anyone that year, but Miller did lead his team to a state championship. He was deserving of the award IMO. Hopson did not deserve Mr. Basketball at all.
  9. I am not throwing off on Sewell at all. Hes had a great year. But I think he needs to perform in the post season well also. It reminds me of 08. I believe Shelvin Mack had easily the best regular season of all the candidates. But in the post season Darius Miller led his team to a State title and deserved the award. IMO if Trinity loses to Seneca and is eliminated and say McCreary Central wins a couple games in the Sweet 16 and Watts has great numbers then I think he would deserve the award. BTW I think Watts has a nice resume for Mr. Bball too. I don't see how this statement is ridiculous unless it was just a regular season award.
  10. I don't know if all 3 are candidates or any of them are really strong candidates as far as having a good shot at it, but the point of my post is the Mr. Basketball race should be wide open at this point. You could add: Josh Whitaker Cameron Hall Tate Cox Keiston Jones Samsel from Manual The PG at Eastern (forgot his name) Madison Johnson Vance Hall
  11. I don't think anyone should have decided yet who Mr. Basketball is. The votes are not due now until after the Sweet 16 (correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore its should still be a wide open race with a lot of candidates still out there like: Josh Sewell Chad Jackson Ricardo Johnson Elijah Justice Dakota Euton Aaron Watts Pittman Ge'lawn Guyn Ian Chiles Thomas Jackson Donovan Gibbs etc. I know I'm missing some great players, but my point is I believe its still wide open as it should be!
  12. I think its a shame 1 of these teams won't get out of their district. These 2 teams are very good. It should be a very close game. I hope to make it over to Tates Creek for this one.
  13. Henry Clay has played very well lately. They could do some damage in the post season IMO. They are a young athletic team that is just kind of coming together.
  14. Great win for GRC! Ballard is a quality team. Clark Co. seems to be playing their best ball at the right time of the year. I wish I would have made the trip to Clark Co. I missed a great game!
  15. The way I see it, it happened. Its over. At the time I was very upset about it because in my mind Bell Co. would have been in the state championship game and before the game some Highlands fans on here gave Bell Co. no chance. I found it disrespectful at the time. But I don't like seeing kids having to sit out and being ruled ineligible. I'm glad to see him move on and do well for himself. So now I think everyone should move on and let it go really.
  16. Did Gregory play for Male tonight?
  17. I'm really surprised by this one. I thought Lafayette would press more and give Clark Co. a very close game, especially without Stenzel. But they didn't play hard at all until Clark got up by 20+ in the 3rd qtr. Daniels looked very good I thought. As did Zollo and Purvis. Thats a big win for Clark, but a poor effort IMO by Lafayette.
  18. I don't get it. Based on that run down I believe Clay has played a tougher schedule and you think NL has played tougher. I just don't see NL's schedule stacking up to Clay Co's.
  19. Based on this post I'd have to give it to Clay Co. for the toughest schedule.
  20. I'd go ahead and put Robbie Stenzel up there. Hes accomplished an awful lot individually. I believe he will finish this year strong and have a great senior year as well. Also Grutza at Mason Co. had a great career too.
  21. Is this game still on? I'm looking forward to watching it on Wazoo tonight.
  22. I think we are in most cases. People always want to get on to the refs and blame them. But I do believe that there are refs out there who really cheat. Go to a game at Clay Co, at Corbin, at Hazard or Perry Central, at Lexington Catholic, at schools in Louisville, etc with certain refs. You will get cheated. Not always, it just depends on the crew. But cheating goes on so some guys deserve getting yelled at and ridiculed as much as possible. But for the most part people are too hard on refs. Thats just my opinion.
  23. I believe Tommy Greer, Brian Yankee, and Kevin Hembree do a great job in the 13th region.
  24. I'm definitly surprised by the score. LCA has a quality team, but so does Lafayette. Does anyone know if Napier played?
