I don't think they could help playing BB. I thought they were district opponents? Hopefully BW will be able to move up to a different class, which would probably make them happy.

Not an expert, but a clip is a block from behind, at or below the waist. So, unless he is coming from behind the defender and taking out his knees, it's not a clip. Also, where the helmet is on the block has zero bearing on whether or not it is a penalty. The question is, where is the initial contact. If the contact is not square in the numbers on the back of the jersey, it is a legal block. Ask an official...I did. Maybe the cornerback should call the crack-back block and not allow his linebacker to get crushed.

I really like Coach Deaton and Coach Hornsby. I hope both find success this season, especially for Coach Hornsby. He seems like a first class man. I would hate for the school board to run him out of town for not winning. Just my opinion.

I think all fields should be closed to anyone who is not a coach, player, media, administrator, or someone doing work during the games. It's great to have support, but it is a distraction which is understandable. The track is a part of the field in my opinion. There are gates set up for a reason, therefore it should be upheld. Many schools in the past used to issue field passes to people, which allowed them to stand on the field. Maybe Scott High School should look into that. As for standing behind the bench on the track, I think that is a bad place to be for anyone not on the team. The team box runs from the 25 to 25. Nothing wrong with standing outside the team box to watch a game. I think a coach has every right to tell someone to leave his team box or sideline area if he feels as if it could be a distraction. Players on the sideline who know the alumni may have the tendancy to turn around and chatter with them when they should be focusing on the game.

Owen 35-7. BBHS will struggle, new coach or not. I understand BBHS has tackling issues, per the Enquirer article on them. You don't perfect tackling in a few weeks, so it is my belief that Owen will run like the wind. Good luck to both teams and coaches.

I will agree that Austin had a great year, but he is no where close to being H.O.F. material. The people mentioned here were extraordinary athletes that did amazing things for their 8 years in the NKYFL.

What a shame for the program. Did Shannon Minor ever land somewhere? If not, maybe he is up for round two on the river.

I don't know if I could call this a big hire. If he could have gotten a good head coach to leave and come to BBHS, then yes, it would be. Anyone know who was interviewed or applied?

What doesn't surprise me is their arrogance. Say what you will, it's the truth. To think they can release a coach in June, when the season starts in a month, is arrogant IMO. These boys should be in a passing league, or practicing their stances, routes, plays, etc. Let's face it, how many kids on the BBHS teams have played football their entire lives? These boys need to be on a field working on their skills. It's a shame BBHS couldn't have hired their first choice a couple years ago, but the fact of the matter is they got people who were dedicated to Brossart. Call it a cheap shot, call it the truth, or call it what you want.
