Thanks for the information Himmelfarb. I have watched both of these fine young ladies since they were in elementary school and both have exhibited a great deal of class and skill. I look forward to watching their careers at the next level.

Scooter- I disagree with you about the scheduling issue. I think as 64th District teams they should play each other home and home every year, along with Boyd County and Fairview. I wouldn't count out Rose Hill in their next meeting. They can play a lot better then they showed tonight. The Tomcats were the better team tonight, but that can change in a hurry.

I agree, however, when the two Jackson brothers had a total of 10 fouls and 0 points it's time to step up. Rose Hill must have better production out of those two in particular to be successful. Dakota didn't shoot particularly well, but he ruled the boards. Of course, this is just all opinion, which is what BGP was created for.

I would like to hear from Rickyp, that bright blue tie of his reminded me of the blue suitcoat fiasco that Jeff Hall's staff wore in their 1st Region title matchup with Ashland.

After this year I think the Lady Royals will have a hard time. That's not to say they won't win, because that's the overall state of girls basketball, but I don't forsee them ever duplicating the success that they enjoyed the last year, or even this year. That team was built five years ago and everything came together at the right time. They don't have the talent coming up to match Queen, the Faulkners, Terry, Yates, Spradlin and the rest. Of course, there are some schools that have never had that level of talent. The Rose Hill girls program has always gone through ups and downs, highs and lows. I remember a few years ago when their girls team almost won the 16th Region class A title. That sort of team may be in their future in 2 or 3 years.

Although some of Rose Hill's "more faithful" might disagree, I don't think the referee's had anything to do with the outcome. I'm not saying that there weren't a lot of questionable calls, but they went both ways and affected both teams equally. Obviously the Jackson brothers, particularily Chad, needs to step up to the plate in their next game and establish their presence. Even though I was hoping for a different outcome, I enjoyed the game and the atmosphere.

I was at the game and it was a great win for the Tomcats. Rose Hill kept getting close in the 2nd half, but they just could not get over the hump. I told my wife when Rose Hill had the ball in the 3rd with Ashland leading 42-40 that the Royals need a score because before that they kept cutting the lead to 2 and then Ashland would go on a little run. But Rose Hill didn't score and the next thing they knew the Tomcats were leading 57-40. That is where the Royals lack of experience showed. Ashland was the best team tonight, however, the young Royals have nothing to hang their heads about. They can still do well in the Region and, with a little luck and timing, wind up in Rupp.

Good win for the Lady Royals (IMO all wins are good wins). It is good that Coach Euton is getting the younger players some playing time. They are going to need them if they want to contend in March.

Congratulations to a kid that I have watched and liked since he was in Junior High. He is a great kid that has made his family and the Russell basketball community proud.

Coach Johnson will have the Rams ready, as usual. This would be a huge win for the young Royals team, if they can pull it off. I am sure that Raceland's gym will be rocking on Thursday night. I might have to mozy over and catch the game.

The whole "scuffle" is being blown way out of proportion. The bottem line is that Rose Hill is proving to be a much tougher opponent than everyone thought at the start of the year. I hope that the young Royals keep their head and don't start reading their headlines (or BGP)

Fball, I think Scooter nailed the situation. There are a lot more former Rose Hill kids starting for other 16th Region schools then there are kids playing for Rose Hill from other schools. Check the starters at Russell, Ashland, Fairview, and Raceland. I don't think the Rose Hill kids (Euton and Jackson) are going anywhere. They are playing there their Freshman year, which is when OJ and the "gang" all transferred, unless you count Billy Walker who was either an 8th grader or Freshman. Euton's parents are heavily involved in Rose Hill and I think you will see him graduate from Rose Hill and make the 16th Region proud.

I think you are right, Shooterx3, I think Rose Hill has a couple of the biggest wins for a 16th Region team. Rose Hill's stock is rising quickly.

My prayers and sympathy go out to Tom and Mary Crisp. Stephen was a great kid, excellent student, and a fine athlete. I have watched him grow up since elementary school and have been very impressed with him. Keep their family in prayer.

I think any step from High school to college is a step up, especially if your dreaming of coaching at the college level. Now, if this is true, who is a front runner to take Coach Todd's place?

I believe that Emily will end up at East Tennessee State (which has a great womens program) and Laura Terry will end up playing at Nothern Kentucky University. That's my educated (with occasionaly inside information) guess.
