LOL - I doubt that they have gone that far, but I can't imagine any high school (Kentucky or anywhere else) that wouldn't give their right arm to have this young lady play for them.

Other than her deadbeat father, she's the ideal player - grades, attitude, athleticsm, skills, length, ball handling, shooting.

If you can just get past that paternal baggage ...

Frances

PS - for anyone reading this, I am being facetious about the baggage. Her parents are excellent people - and in this case the apple fell right at the foot of the tree. :thumb:

Congrats to Ms. Queen for getting interest from some real fine schools.

While we are mentioning rumors and not to threadjack Frances thread but someone emailed me today and asked if I had heard anything about Greg Todd of LexCath becoming Transy's new coach.

Have heard from a couple of guys who referee in the the region that it was a done deal.

that is so exciting. Emily will represent the state very well. Congrats to her and to her family!

With all the talk on this board regarding Terry and Queen, I'm very interested to see where they wind up. Sounds like both would be fine additions to any college program.

I never seem to credit Laura Terry, and that is not really an intentional act on my part. I'm sure she is an excellent basketball player, as her showing in Bowling Green will attest. I have heard several people that I respect say that she is definitely a D-I player, and I certainly hope she gets the opportunity to show it.

On the other hand, I've known Emily Queen since she was just a wee nipper, and I can't help bragging on her when I get the chance.

My apologies to Ms. Terry, and best wishes for her continued career. While we wait to see how that turns out, though, I'll be pulling for Queen to accept a scholarship to a University that can have some serious life changing impact on her future.

Rooting for Emily,

Frances

I believe that Emily will end up at East Tennessee State (which has a great womens program) and Laura Terry will end up playing at Nothern Kentucky University. That's my educated (with occasionaly inside information) guess.

Any university would do themselves well to end up with someone of Emily's character. Not to mention,,,, she has skills:scared:

I don't know where you get your information from, Himmelfarb, but you usually seem pretty accurate on this type of thing. You're usually out in left field on everything else, but not too bad on this.... ;)

By the way - you know how I feel. I'm rooting for the BIG break. :thumb:

Uh, excuse me...that would be "right field."

LOL - I stand corrected, Gertrude. Of course, I would ask that others not confuse "Right" field with "Correct" field in this instance....

PS - will you be joining us at the Ladies' Auxiliary meeting today? Several of the girls were asking why you missed the meeting last month, and I made your apologies. I told them that you were delivering meals to some shut-ins and couldn't shake free.
