Big upset for the Lady Vikings. Congratulations on a terrific defensive effort.

Russell could not buy a bucket tonight and had problems with Rowan County's

press. Rowan also shut down Russell's inside game with double and triple teams

on Okoro.

#45 for Rowan County had an excellent game.

It may be another one of those that has the pollsters scratching their heads,

but Rowan County was on and for one reason or another Russell was not.

Good to see a big crowd for a Thursday night game, just wish the Lady Devils

could have sent the home fans home happy.

 

Russell with a big game coming up Saturday against Montgomery County, one

wonders if the Lady Devils were looking ahead. Knew coming into this one

that Rowan was tough (last game between these two was 52-46 Russell).

Hopefully the Devils can rebound big against the ladies from Mount Sterling.

One should never underestimate the defense that Coach Thomas and his ladies bring to the court each and every game. Great win ladies!

Sure it was an upset but that's what happens in the 16th...Teams know each other and Rowan was very prepared tonight...Sure, Russell didn't play their best but give Rowan credit for causing some of that...Same thing happened at Fleming last year...

 

Congratulations to Rowan...They outplayed Russell tonight...It's January 18th and there's a lot of basketball left to be played...I don't remember there being a trophy being presented after the game although if you watched Troy Lee you would have thought there was...

Nice road win by Coach Thomas and Lady Vikings and it was somewhat of an upset, but that seems to always happen in the 16th, I promise you Coach K wasn't looking ahead, even though they have another tough one coming up. Both teams will be tough outs come March.

I would suspect that Rowan County got its win over Russell a little early. If the teams meet again in Morehead, it won't happen again. Russell has far more more talent and size than does the Rowan County.
