I'm guessing here......Louisville Central lost those games??? Besides if you play a really good EKY team they'll bang the insides out of you before the game is over win or lose. Its almost like a heavy weight fight. There is no quit in the teams from this side of the state....Call it Pride or whatever the Louisville Central team is about to take a punch right square in the chops this Friday.

Okay.....Jim Matney's family has name sake over the Belfry mascot! I think that might be debated.

I was going to reply with quotes and rebutle but, I'll just say this...... Louisville Central and Belfry are the 2 top teams in 3A. Louisville Central will bring a bunch of talent to the table in this battle and they have proven that they can hang with the big boys. Belfry will bring a bunch of skilled players, in their own respect, and have 2 Titles under their belt. The difference here IMO is if Louisville Central can handle the snot bubble hitting Mountian Boys?

I don't think I've ever met an arrogant Belfry coach, player, or fan, and your post reflects the reward of MANY years of hard work and devotion to the Belfry Football Program and the school alike. It takes great leadership accomplish what Belfry has done, and as an outsider I congratulate the Belfry community on a job well done! Nothing wrong with scouting your opponents and yes a Boyd County coach was there. I'm sure Ashland had someone at the BC game.

Please check your sources, becuase that just aint true:argue: I know! Is this resignation a what if, or a fact? It is FACT that this would be a huge loss to the Lawrence County program. Billy Goldsmith has and will always be respected by his coaching peers. Yes, sometimes there comes a time for change, but Billy is a class act from top to bottom and I hope that the decision is his and not somebody else.

Looks like they just want to play at the normal time? I want to admit that I was very brash about this game in my earlier posts. What Coach Howard and his playes have done at Letcher County Central this year is worthy of complements. Heck, I know that community is excited for this team and they should be. I full well expect that Coach Howard (He's coached teams that have won State Championships) knows the type of team that he's about to face and will do every thing in his power to prepare his Cougars to meet this challenge. Good Luck Cougars. These are the big boys but their not Supermen either.

It will all depend on who establishes their game. If Breathitt County can score quick at any point in the game then Russell is in trouble. BUT if Russell can control the tempo of this game the Bobcats will be taking up the equipment after the Thanksgiving Break. You don't want to behind against Russell going into the 4th. I would like to know McGlone's winning percentage when leading in the 4th?

Here's what I know about Lincoln County. They've made several long runs into the playoffs including 1990 when Ashland met them in the 3A State Championship. The Patriots have a proud program, not unlike Johnson Central strugled they a bit in the early 2000's until they found their current HC Coach French. I have NO doubt that this will be a great football game, but all you Eagle fans can't let your thread get high-jacked by all this Highlands banter. Yes, they were good against "their" opponents so far this season. I would like to see Letcher County Central prove me wrong, but I really don't think its in the cards this week. You've picked a 31 point loss for LCC....What's another 20 points? The Cougars have not seen the amount of speed that Highlands is going to put on the field this coming Friday night. Besides I'll stand by my statement that LLC's schedule was weak.

I would assume map quest would bring LCC up US 23 to Prestonsburg and then across the Mountian Parkway to I-64 and then to I-75. Its 4+ hours for sure. There might be a better way, but I don't think so. As far as the game goes good luck to Letcher County. LCC is probably playing the best team in 5A this week and that doesn't look good coming out of LCC's District. On the same thought it might not make a difference what District your coming out of when playing the Blue Birds this season, but LCC's District could be the weakest in 5A IMO. I guess you never know till you play...I think it will be Highlands 78 Letcher County Central 20

Okay, we've seen a couple of 1st round playoff games played here on Thursday night. What is the rule for scheduling playoff games? I can see some advantages for #1 teams who choose to play earlier than Friday night. What if that #1 is coming off an open week or can play earlier than Thursday of the First week of the playoffs? Just my thoughts and I'm sure someone can clear this up...
