It looks as if Beechwood has it wrapped up on paper but anything can happen on the field. Besides you were talking about LCA being a pretender not Hazard;)

I don't know if that's the case but by looking at the field of 1A teams Beechwood, Hazard, Fulton City, Dayton, and Pikeville are teams to watch. To be honest it looks like its Beechwood's Championship to lose IMO.

I don't think anybody in this 5A District has forgotten about Woodford County. But you've got to be kinding with your spellings in the last post. Now I want to be politically correct when saying this its JOHNSON CENTRAL and BELFRY. I'm sorry if I've offened anyone by making that correction, but the school names are in the title of the thread and should be easy enough to repeat.

I don't keep up with 1A football all that much, but did Hazard just send a message with this score or am I thinking the LCA is much better than they are?

Okay, I thought you were saying they won the game too, but I do Agree that this game was a moral victory for Greenup and might just boost their play going into the playoffs. By the way who does Greenup get next week and will it be home or away?

I know that it seems that way now and having been a player and coach sometimes bad things begin happening and they start to grow like a snowball rolling down a mountain and before you know it a game is over and you can't go back. The good thing about this loss for Johnson Central is that it happened in the regular season and to a non-district opponent. At least the Eagles still have life and can learn from the game. Because they beat a 2A team at home without their starting qb? I'm not sure who Perry County Central's District will play in the 5A playoff after the first 2 rounds but I don't like their chances. If we still mixed the districts in the region there is a strong likelihood that Perry's district would get swept, IMO.

I wonder if the scrimmage last year between these two played any role tonight? I say that because Central came loaded for bear in that scrimmage and really put it on Belfry during the preseason match up. Just a thought. It might mean nothing but I've got a strange feeling the Pirates didn't forget.
