I would say that he was impressed with the ease at which they were scoring. A little "shellshocked" perhaps. He started off scouting the JV game because an elderly Highlands fan told him that the Varsity was scrimmaging at one end of the field and the JV at the other when in fact it was the JV scrimmage he was watching and the freshman at the other. He did scout the first half of the varsity game and then left to return to Dayton. If that was Trotwood's idea of an advanced scout things should look pretty good for the Birds considering they are sending out the venerable Charlie Barr and new sidekick John Murray to do the scouting.

I heard that Trotwood got drilled by Colerain a few weeks ago in a scrimmage. They sent a scout down to the scrimmage last week and he did not even know that he was trying to scout the JV game and then left at halftime. The only words I heard him utter were that this was ridiculous, referring to Highlands numerous scores in the first half.

The kid was returning a kickoff and took a direct hit to the arm which resulted in the fumble. I believe that the kids number was 11. The arm was in a sling and I heard his mom telling someone that it was his elbow and not his arm that was injured. Hopefully that clears things up.

I have seen a Colerain football schedule that lists Highlands as their second game of the year. The site of the game is listed as Highlands. Any truth to this?

Word has it that Greg McGraw may in fact return to the hardwood in the fall/winter which along with Drew Simons would give the Birds 3 potential scorers.
